Job summary

Veolia seeks an experienced Electrical Panel Design Engineer to join the team in Chennai. The role involves designing MCC/VFD panels, reading tender specs, preparing BOMs and single-line diagrams, and coordinating 3D layouts with engineering disciplines.

You should have 7–11 years of panel design experience in water, wastewater, power, oil & gas sectors, with strong AutoCAD Electrical skills and PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley/Siemens).

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics or similar technology.
• 7–11 years of panel design and BOP electrical design experience in water, wastewater, power, oil & gas or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inspection reports for MCC/VFD panels and motors.
• Read tender specifications and prepare technical deviation lists.
• Create load lists, IO lists, single-line diagrams, system architecture, loop drawings, control schematics, panel GA and BOM in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Estimate budget hours for assigned tasks.
• Perform technical bid evaluations for electrical items per codes and client specs.
• Coordinate PLC/ electrical design FAT and SAT activities.
• Support 3D modelling and layout preparation with inter-discipline teams.

Job description

Must-Have Requirements

1. Knowledge of Motor, MCC, VFD, PLC Panels datasheet based on UL/NEMA/CSA international codes & standards.
2. Attending and preparing inspection reports for MCC/VFD panels and motors.
3. Ability to read the tender specification and prepare technical queries deviation list.
4. Preparation of Load list, IO list, single line diagram, system architecture, Loop drawing, Control schematic, Panel GA & BOM Fabrication Drawing documents in AutoCAD Electrical tool related to PLC and Power panel.
5. Estimate accurate budget hours for the completion of assigned tasks.
6. Experience in Low Voltage System design in North America, including UL508A, NFPA 70, UL698A, UL913, CSA 22.2, NFPA 497, NFPA 820 and ANSI schematics.
7. Candidates should have experience in Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC.
8. Complete Technical Bid Evaluation for Electrical items offers in line with codes & client specification codes, client specifications and project expectations (Cost/Time).
9. Knowledge and experience in PLC control panel FAT and SAT.
10. Experience in VFD/PLC/Control panels components selection
11. Deep knowledge in instruments like 2 wire, 4 wire, HART Foundation Field bus, Profibus, etc.
12. Knowledge related to interface between MCC Panel/VFD to Automation system-hardwired or soft like MODBUS or Ethernet etc.
13. Knowledge of simple electrical datasheets (Motor, MCC, PMCC, VFD, APFC Panels, cable, cable tray etc).
14. Knowledge of electrical load list, Single line diagram, Power and control Cable schedule, Cable tray and Earthing Layout and respective BOMs.
15. Knowledge of all types of Electrical Equipment's datasheets.
16. Knowledge of inspection reports for Motor, MCC, VFD, PMCC and APFC Panel, cable, and Cable tray.
17. Guide 3D Modeller on electrical Equipments and cable tray installations on 3D model development.
18. Coordinate with inter-discipline for 3D modelling and layout preparation.

1. Simplifying and standardisation of PLC panel design & Electrical Design
2. Knowledge in detail BOP Electrical engineering (Cable Schedule, Cable Tray Routing, Earthing & Lighting calculation, and Layout etc.)

Qualifications

Engineering Degree Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Similar Technology

Minimum 7-11 years Panel design & BOP Electrical Design in Experience of Water, Wastewater, Power, Oil & Gas, or related Industry.
