Job summary

Expleo in Chennai, India is seeking a 3D CAD designer for plastic injection molded parts using Catia V5 R24. You will design constrained sketches, perform boolean operations, and create detailed part drawings with GD&T while aligning with DFM/ DFA standards.

You will manage data in PLM, assess tolerance stackups, ensure designs meet manufacturing processes, and help keep projects within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in 3D CAD design for plastic parts.
• Proficiency with Catia V5 R24 and GD&T.
• Ability to analyze tolerance stackups and support DFM/DFA.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models for injection molded plastic parts in Catia V5 R24.
• Design constrained sketches and perform boolean operations using inner/outer methods.
• Produce detailed drawings with GD&T, considering manufacturing processes and measurement techniques.
• Manage data within PLM systems and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Ensure project work is within budget and delivered on time.

Role & responsibilities

Mandatory :

• 3D CAD design for plastic Injection molded parts using Catia V5 R24
  Part design using constrained Sketches and Boolean operation with Inner / outer methodology
  Working in Product structure using multi-Skeleton methodology
  Detailed plastic Part design as per the design standards, following Design for manufacturing
  (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) requirements
  Detailed drawings creation for parts and assembly with GD&T considering Manufacturing
  process and measurement techniques
  Tolerance stackup analysis
  Self-check designs to rectify CAD quality , DFM and DFA issues
  Vehicle Packaging investigations and concept modification
  Data management in PLM
  Ensure task compilation within budget and on time
