Job summary

Hangerspace Interior Solutions is seeking a seasoned Costing Executive to prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and material take-offs aligned with client requirements. You will coordinate with Design, Sales, Production, and Procurement to obtain inputs and update cost templates for accurate budgeting and profitability.

You will monitor costs against estimates, analyze variances, and prepare reports for management reviews, supporting audits and continuous improvement in costing methods.

Qualifications

  • BE or diploma in civil, interior design, or related field.
  • 24 years of experience in project costing, estimation, or quantity surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, material estimation, and costing.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and related software.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and modular furniture materials.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and commercial documentation.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
COSTING EXECUTIVE

Prepare detailed project cost estimates based on BOQs, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
Analyse material, labour, subcontractor, transportation, and overhead costs to prepare accurate project cost sheets.
Review client drawings and coordinate with the Design, Sales, Production, and Procurement teams to obtain technical inputs.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, and material consumption statements.
Verify material specifications and ensure costing is based on approved material standards and current market rates.
Coordinate with the Procurement team to obtain supplier quotations and validate material pricing.
Prepare quotation comparison statements and recommend the most cost-effective procurement options.
Maintain updated material rate databases, labour rates, and costing templates.
Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
Assist in preparing project budgets and monitor actual costs against estimated costs.
Track project cost variations and prepare revised cost estimates whenever design or scope changes occur.
Support production planning by providing accurate material and labour cost information.
Prepare project profitability reports and variance analysis for management review.
Maintain complete documentation of BOQs, quotations, cost sheets, approvals, and project costing records.
Coordinate with the Accounts department for project cost allocation and reconciliation.
Assist during internal audits, external audits, and management reviews by providing costing records and supporting documents.
Ensure compliance with company policies, costing procedures, and quality management systems.
Prepare periodic MIS reports on project costing, material consumption, cost variances, and profitability.
Maintain confidentiality of project pricing, costing information, and commercial data.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to costing methods and processes.

Qualifications & Experience
  1. BE / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  2. 24 years of experience in project costing, estimation, or quantity surveying, preferably in the modular furniture, interior fit-out, or construction industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, material estimation, and project costing.
  4. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other costing or estimation software.
  5. Understanding of manufacturing processes, modular furniture materials, hardware, and fittings.
  6. Knowledge of project budgeting, cost control, and commercial documentation.

  • Prepare and submit project cost estimates and cost sheets for management approval.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to obtain supplier quotations and verify pricing.
  • Validate BOQs, material quantities, and costing calculations.
  • Recommend updates to material rates, labour rates, and costing templates.
  • Coordinate with Design, Sales, Production, Procurement, and Accounts departments for project costing activities.
  • Prepare project cost reports, profitability analysis, and variance reports for management review.
  • Maintain costing documentation in accordance with company policies and quality management procedures.
  • Recommend cost optimization opportunities to improve project profitability while maintaining quality standards.
