Job summary

EduFund is seeking a VP - Mutual Fund Research to establish and lead its Research function. This strategic role focuses on mutual funds, building research frameworks and knowledge assets from ground up, while partnering with Product, Marketing, Investments, Compliance, and Leadership.

The role evolves to building and leading a high-performing research team as the function grows, delivering investment insights and market outlooks to guide business decisions.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Investment Research, Mutual Fund Research, Equity Research, Wealth Management Research or Asset Management.
• Hands-on Mutual Fund research experience is mandatory.
• Experience producing investment reports or market research influencing decisions.
• Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and establish EduFund's end-to-end Research function.
• Develop methodologies, frameworks, and governance for research.
• Lead in-depth Mutual Fund research on fund houses, schemes, and performance.
• Track SEBI/AMFI updates plus macro developments affecting investments.
• Produce investment insights, reports, notes, and leadership presentations.
• Translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for customers and partners.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Investments, and Compliance.
• Create and maintain a centralized research repository.
• Represent EduFund's research in external thought leadership.
• Hire, mentor, and grow the Research team as the function expands.

Job description

We are looking for a highly experienced VP - Mutual Fund Research to establish and lead EduFund's Research function. This is a strategic individual contributor role for someone passionate about investment research, particularly Mutual Funds, and capable of building research frameworks, processes, and knowledge assets from the ground up.

The successful candidate will initially work independently while partnering closely with Product, Marketing, Investments, Compliance, and Leadership. As the function grows, this individual will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing research team.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and establish EduFund's end-to-end Research function.
• Develop research methodologies, frameworks, quality standards, and governance processes.
• Lead in-depth research on Mutual Funds including fund houses, schemes, categories, portfolio strategies, performance, risk metrics, regulations, and market trends.
• Track SEBI regulations, AMFI updates, macroeconomic developments, and industry changes impacting investment products.
• Produce investment insights, thematic reports, whitepapers, research notes, market outlooks, and leadership presentations.
• Translate complex financial concepts into simple, actionable insights for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, Investments, and Compliance to drive research-backed business decisions.
• Create and maintain a centralized research repository and knowledge management system.
• Represent EduFund's research capability in external thought leadership initiatives when required.
• Hire, mentor, and build the Research team as the function expands.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in Investment Research, Mutual Fund Research, Equity Research, Wealth Management Research, Asset Management, or Financial Research.
• Hands-on Mutual Fund research experience is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience producing investment reports or market research that influenced business or investment decisions.
