Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited is seeking an experienced network engineering professional to manage Optical/PTN/DWDM networks and ensure service quality across mobility and enterprise customers. The role focuses on architecture, implementation, and preventive maintenance of complex transport networks.

You will work with multiple vendors, coordinate with NOC and field teams, and drive RCA actions and operational efficiency in a dynamic, matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of Optical/PTN/DWDM experience in service provider or OEM environment.
• Technical expertise in ASON, DWDM, OTN, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, SDH, etc.
• Understanding of Mobility services such as 4G, VoLTE.
• Hands-on experience with multi-vendor devices (Huawei/ECI/Ciena/ZTE/Infinera/Tejas).
• Excellent team building, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, matrix organizations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver network and service KPIs for Optical and DWDM networks and systems; ensure service experience for mobility and enterprise customers.
• Collaborate with circle transport functions and central teams to meet uptime, fault, and performance KPIs; manage changes.
• Implement circle-specific solutions to improve voice/data service experience.
• Perform preventive maintenance of optical transport networks to reduce outages and equipment damage.
• Coordinate with OEMs, OSP teams, NOC, and field engineers to reduce MTTR.
• Lead TAC for RCA and action plan implementation; optimize network to save Opex.

Job Purpose :

• Responsible for circle transport Optical/PTN network, Sync , DWDM network and the service experience
• DWDM network, Optical/PTN network and synch network architecture compliance. Continuous audit of the network and ensure compliance
• Optical/PTN, DWDM network acceptance with respect to quality of installation, architecture, and eco system
• Build a support system for process standardization and OSS integration of the transport network

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

• Accountable to deliver the Network and service KPIs for the Optical and DWDM network & systems . Deliver service experience to Mobility and enterprise customers.
• Work closely with other transport functions in the circle and central to meet uptime , fault KPI, performance KPI and Change management KPI.
• Implement circle specific solutions to improve experience for Voice and Data services
• Responsible for preventive maintenance of Optical transport network to reduce outages, alarms , performance issues and equipment damage
• Drive and work with OEMs, Optical ,OSP teams, NOC and other Field Engineers to reduce MTTR
• Drive TAC team for RCA/Plan of Action and its implementation
• Deliver Opex saving by network optimization, spare management

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

• 10-12 Years of Optical/PTN/DWDM Experience in service provider/OEM environment
• Technical expertise in ASON, DWDM, OTN,MPLS-TP, Ethernet ,SDH etc
• Understanding of Mobility services such as 4G, VoLTE desired.
• Hands on experience in managing Huawei/ECI/Ciena/ZTE/Infinera/Tejas devices in a multi vendor architecture
• Excellent team building capabilities, communication & Presentation skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic and matrix organization

Must have technical / professional qualifications

• Graduate in Electronics/Computer science
