Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) is seeking a TM – Core Performance to oversee Pan-India core monitoring for MME, SGW, PGW, and PCRF from Pune-COR. The role demands strong 4G LTE/EPC and 5G NSA/SA knowledge with hands-on KPI analysis and RCA, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to sustain service performance.

You will monitor cloud KPIs, DNS, and OpenSignal metrics, drive fault resolution, and publish weekly KPI reports.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics/Telecommunications/CS (or equivalent).
• 4–6 years of experience in core network performance management.
• Experience with multi-vendor 4G/VoLTE environments and basic Cloud/NFV knowledge.

Responsibilities

• PAN-India Core Monitoring across MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF.
• Track key Packet Core metrics and handovers; initiate corrective actions.

Job Purpose

The TM – Core Performance role requires strong knowledge of 4G LTE/EPC and 5G NSA/SA architecture, along with hands‑on experience in Packet Core KPI monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting. The role also requires a good understanding of core network elements, DNS, interfaces, protocols, Cloud/NFV infrastructure, and Cloud KPIs such as CPU, memory, disk, VM/container health, and network utilization. Key responsibilities include identifying KPI degradation, performing PCAP analysis, conducting troubleshooting and RCA, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors to maintain network performance and service stability.

Key Responsibilities

• PAN-India Core Monitoring: Monitor performance across multi-vendor core network nodes, including MME, SGW, PGW, and PCRF.
• Success Rate Tracking: Track key Packet Core success metrics, including S11 SR, ASR, PDN, LUSR, and WiFi-to-LTE handovers, and initiate timely corrective actions.
• Capacity and Throughput Management: Audit IP pool utilization and SGW/PGW throughput trends to support demand forecasting and capacity planning.
• Enterprise Platform Oversight: Monitor DRA/OCS performance and AAA/APN-wise KPIs to support enterprise service efficiency and stability.
• P1 Incident Response: Support high-priority incident resolution through real-time KPI analysis, alerting, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Reporting and Audits: Conduct parameter audits for quality compliance and publish weekly Data Core and Cloud KPI trend reports.
• Technology Evolution: Build knowledge across emerging technology areas, including WiFi, DNS, Cloud KPIs, and Packet Core 4G/5G architectures.
• Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor infrastructure-level Cloud KPIs such as CPU load, virtualization latency, VM/container health, and virtual switch packet drops for cloud-native telecom functions.
• OpenSignal, Customer Complaints and User Experience Monitoring: Monitor OpenSignal KPIs, including download/upload speed, latency, packet loss, discard rate, and TTFB. Analyse customer complaints and experience indicators, correlate them with network KPIs to drive service improvements and corrective actions.

Technical/ Functional Competencies

• Packet Core KPI Monitoring: Track performance across MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, and DNS elements.
• Enterprise Core Performance: Monitor DRA, OCS, PCRF, AAA, and APN performance indicators.
• Data Core Protocols: Understand S11, S5, and S8 interfaces, along with GTP, Diameter, and Radius protocols.
• Capacity Utilization Analysis: Analyse IP pool utilization, throughput trends, and demand projections.
• Network Performance Reporting and Alerting: Prepare KPI dashboards, configure threshold alerts, and support performance reporting.
• Cloud Infrastructure Performance: Understand RHOSP and RHOCP architectures and monitor key cloud performance indicators.
• User Experience KPI Correlation: Correlate OpenSignal, TTFB, latency, throughput, packet loss, and discard-rate metrics with network performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Education Qualification

B.E./B.Tech — Electronics / Telecommunications / Computer Science.

Years Of Working Experience

Minimum 4–6 years of experience in core network performance management or Packet Core operations, with exposure to multi-vendor 4G/VoLTE environments and a basic understanding of Cloud/NFV infrastructure.
