Job summary

Tushar Trans Equipment Pvt Ltd in Gujarat seeks a skilled VMC Operator to run Vertical Machining Center machines, set up tools, and ensure components meet drawings and production requirements.

You will read drawings, handle offsets, monitor quality, perform basic preventive maintenance, and work in shifts to support production targets while maintaining 5S standards. Minimum ITI/ Diploma with 1–5 years of experience and proficiency with measuring instruments is required.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Machinist, Fitter, Mechanical Engineering, or related trade.
• 1–5 years of experience as a VMC/CNC Operator.
• Good knowledge of VMC machine operation and machining processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool offsets, work offsets, and machining parameters.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments.
• Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC programming is an advantage.
• Good understanding of tolerance, surface finish, and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets.

Responsibilities

• Operate VMC machines for machining components per drawings and specifications.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions.
• Perform machine setup, workpiece loading/unloading, tool setting, and job alignment.
• Load and execute CNC/VMC programs and make necessary offset corrections.
• Select and change cutting tools as required.
• Check first-piece and in-process dimensions using vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure components are produced within specified tolerances and quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance and identify abnormal sounds, vibrations, tool wear, or machining issues.
• Make minor adjustments to cutting parameters and offsets as required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and follow 5S practices on the shop floor.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports, and machine-related documentation.
• Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to resolve machining issues.
• Minimize rejection, rework, tool consumption, and machine downtime.
• Carry out routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow production schedules and achieve assigned quality and productivity targets.
