Job summary

Pradip Polyfils PVT. LTD. is seeking a skilled CNC/VMC Operator to join its manufacturing team. You will operate CNC/VMC machines, set up jobs, and inspect components to ensure conformity with drawings, dimensions, and quality standards.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, implementing tool offsets, and maintaining tight tolerances while following 5S and safety procedures. Shift work may be required to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Turner, Mechanical, or relevant technical trade.
• Previous CNC/VMC operator experience preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T/tolerances.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool offsets, and machining parameters.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and VMC machines safely and efficiently per production requirements.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, job specs, and machining instructions.
• Perform machine setting, tool setting, loading/unloading, and job alignment.
• Load and execute CNC/VMC programs and apply offset corrections.
• Monitor operations to meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge.
• Report defects, wear, or abnormalities and coordinate with teams.
• Maintain machine parameters and optimize processes; track production records.
• Work in shift operations if required and follow 5S/SOPs.

This role plays an important part in achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, minimizing machine downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and VMC machines safely and efficiently as per production requirements.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, job specifications, and machining instructions.
• Perform machine setting, tool setting, workpiece loading/unloading, and job alignment.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Load and execute CNC/VMC programs and make necessary offset corrections during production.
• Monitor machining operations and ensure components are manufactured according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and other inspection tools.
• Identify and report machining defects, tool wear, machine abnormalities, and quality issues.
• Maintain proper machine parameters and optimize machining processes where required.
• Achieve daily/shift-wise production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
• Maintain proper records related to production, inspection, tool changes, and machine operation.
• Follow 5S, safety procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials, finished components, tools, and fixtures.
• Carry out basic machine cleaning and routine operator-level maintenance.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to resolve operational issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, quality, and machine utilization.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Turner, Mechanical, or relevant technical trade.
• Previous experience as a CNC/VMC Operator in a manufacturing or engineering environment will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of CNC/VMC machine operation and basic machine setting.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T/tolerances.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool offsets, work offsets, and machining parameters.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
• Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code/M-code will be an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow production schedules.
• Willingness to work in shift operations, if required.
• Strong focus on workplace safety, discipline, and housekeeping.
