Job summary

Octolife Climate Solutions is seeking a skilled Video Editor with a strong eye for storytelling to bring our content IPs to life across formats—from short-form social content to founder-led brand films. You'll transform raw footage and scripts into polished, high-performing final cuts while contributing hands-on production support.

You will experiment with AI-powered tools to speed up production, handle basic motion graphics, color correction, and sound design, and ensure platform-native pacing

Qualifications

• 23 years of professional video editing experience with hands-on production/shoot experience.
• Strong command of editing software (Premiere Pro / Final Cut / DaVinci Resolve) and motion graphics tools.
• Familiarity with AI content/video generation tools and curiosity to explore new workflows.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Editing: Take raw footage from script to final cut across formats with strong narrative pacing.
• Motion Graphics & Post-Production: Handle basic motion graphics, text animations, sound design, color correction.
• AI-Assisted Production: Use AI tools for B-roll generation and quick iterations to speed up production.
• On-Set/Production Support: Support shoots with camera, lighting basics, and audio capture when needed.
• Platform Optimization: Edit with platform-native pacing for reels, shorts, YouTube long-form, and ads.
• Collaboration & Turnaround: Work with writers, talent, and lead to meet timelines.

Role Overview: Video Editor

We're looking for a skilled Video Editor with a strong eye for storytelling and pacing to bring our content IPs to life across formats - from short-form social content to founder-led brand films. You'll work closely with our content team to transform raw footage and scripts into polished, high-performing final cuts, while also bringing hands-on production experience to support shoots when needed. We're also looking for someone comfortable experimenting with AI-powered tools to speed up production and unlock new creative formats.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Editing: Take raw footage from script to final cut across formats reels, shorts, YouTube long-form, brand films, and paid ad creatives with strong narrative pacing and platform-native sensibility.
• Motion Graphics & Post-Production: Handle basic motion graphics, text animations, sound design, and color correction to elevate production value without over-relying on templates.
• AI-Assisted Production: Use AI video/content tools (e.g., Higgsfield and similar platforms) for tasks like B-roll generation, UGC-style content, quick iterations, background/asset generation, and accelerating turnaround on high-volume formats.
• On-Set/Production Support: Bring working knowledge of production - camera operation, lighting basics, audio capture - to support shoots as needed, not just post-production.
• Platform Optimization: Edit with platform-specific best practices in mind (aspect ratios, hook pacing for shorts vs. long-form retention for YouTube, captions/subtitles for silentviewing).
• Collaboration & Turnaround: Work closely with scriptwriters, on-camera talent, and the content lead to interpret creative intent accurately and hit production timelines.

Required Competencies & Traits

• Experience: 23 years of professional video editing experience, with hands-on production/shoot experience (not purely post-production).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of editing software (Premiere Pro / Final Cut / DaVinci Resolve), plus working knowledge of motion graphics tools (After Effects

preferred).

• AI Tool Fluency: Familiarity with AI content/video generation tools (Higgsfield or similar e.g. Gemini Omni Flash, Runway) and genuine curiosity to keep exploring how AI can speed up or enhance production workflows.
• Storytelling Instinct: Understands pacing, hooks, and narrative structure - can make editorial judgment calls, not just execute a shot list.
• Trend Awareness: Familiar with current short-form content trends, transitions, and editing styles across Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms.

• Reliability & Ownership: Comfortable managing multiple projects with tight turnarounds and minimal hand-holding.
• Communication: Able to take and interpret creative briefs clearly and flag issues or creative suggestions proactively.
