Secret Alchemist in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Video Editor to turn raw ideas into sharp final edits across formats, collaborating with creative and content teams to tell stories that resonate on social, brand films, and campaigns.

You will own the end-to-end editing process, bringing pacing, transitions, music and sound design, while managing multiple projects with tight timelines and pushing for fresh visual language and smart experimentation.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in video editing across digital content/media/advertising
• Strong command of editing tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
• Strong storytelling, pacing, composition and sound/visual flow
• Ability to take a brief and independently figure out execution
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Senior Video Editor who can take a piece of content from a raw idea or footage to a sharp, engaging final edit. You’ll work closely with the creative and content teams to bring stories to life across different formats and platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who has a strong eye for storytelling, understands what makes content work, and is comfortable taking ownership of the edit rather than just executing briefs.

What You’ll Do

• Own the end-to-end video editing process, from understanding the brief and reviewing raw footage to delivering the final cut.
• Edit content across formats such as short-form videos, social media content, brand films, interviews, explainers and campaign videos.
• Bring strong storytelling, pacing, transitions, music, sound design and visual treatment to every edit.
• Work closely with the creative, content and marketing teams to translate ideas into compelling visual content.
• Take ownership of multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and timelines.
• Develop a consistent visual language while also experimenting with new editing styles, formats and trends.
• Work with motion graphics, text animation, other visual elements where required.
• Review and refine edits based on feedback while also bringing your own creative perspective to the table.
• Stay updated with evolving content formats, editing trends and platform-specific best practices.
• Organise and manage project files, footage and assets efficiently.
• Comfortable occasionally handling video shoots, including basic camera setup, framing, lighting and capturing footage.

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7 years of experience in video editing, preferably across digital content, media, advertising, entertainment or a creative setup.
• Strong command of editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop or similar.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, composition, sound and visual flow.
• Ability to take a brief and independently figure out the best way to execute it.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.

Good to Have

• Experience with motion graphics and animation.
• Basic understanding of colour grading and sound mixing.
• Experience creating content specifically for Instagram, Meta Ads and other digital platforms.
• Interest in experimenting with AI tools and new-age video/creative workflows.
