Job summary

Upman Placements is seeking a seasoned professional to head the organization’s technical function, overseeing property valuation, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all branches.

You will standardize processes, drive digital transformation, and mentor regional heads while collaborating with Credit, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Business teams to ensure NHB/RBI compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years in HFC/Bank/NBFC technical function including leadership role.
• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering or bachelor’s degree in architecture. Post Graduation in Construction Management, Real Estate, Project Management or MBA is desirable.
• Preferably HFCs, Banks, NBFC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical function across the organization ensuring quality, consistency and compliance in property valuation and technical appraisal.
• Formulate and implement technical policies, valuation standards and operating procedures across all branches.
• Ensure proposed property identification through multiple check points including digital and manual methods and government property repositories.
• Ensure financed properties are technically sound, legally compliant and possess statutory approvals and marketability.
• Provide strategic leadership in technical risk management, property due diligence and collateral quality assessment.
• Drive continuous improvement in technical appraisal processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce turnaround time.

To lead the organization's technical function by ensuring accurate property valuation, effective technical risk management, regulatory compliance, process standardization, and operational excellence across all branches, thereby safeguarding asset quality and supporting the company's business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the technical function across the organization ensuring quality, consistency and compliance in property valuation and technical appraisal.
• Formulate and implement technical policies, valuation standards and operating procedures across all branches.
• Ensure proposed property identification through multiple check points including combination of digital and manual methods and usage of various property repository of the government.
• Ensure financed properties are technically sound, legally compliant and possess statutory approvals and marketability.
• Provide strategic leadership in technical risk management, property due diligence and collateral quality assessment.
• Review and approve high-value, complex and exception technical cases and recommend risk mitigation.
• Drive continuous improvement in technical appraisal processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
• Lead technical quality audits, portfolio reviews and fraud prevention initiatives.
• Monitor construction-linked loans, PEMI cases and NPA valuations.
• Develop enterprise-level Technical MIS, market intelligence reports and portfolio analytics.
• Support business expansion through technical feasibility and market studies.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives for the technical function.
• Build, mentor and develop Regional Technical Heads, Technical Managers and Technical Appraisers.
• Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Legal, Operations, Collections and Business teams.
• Ensure compliance with NHB, RBI and internal policies.
• Represent the Technical function during audits and regulatory inspections.

Desired Candidate Profile :
