National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is seeking a strategic leader to design and oversee governance and operations for Sector Skill Councils. The role focuses on ensuring performance, collaboration with SSCs, and alignment with NSQF standards, while mentoring SSC leadership and representing NSDC in key industry forums.
The position requires 20+ years in operations and strong experience with boards, senior stakeholders, and the skilling ecosystem in India.
At the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), we are dedicated to empowering India's youth through comprehensive skill development. Established on July 31, 2008, as a not-for-profit public limited company under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 (now corresponding to section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013), we operate as a unique Public Private Partnership (PPP) model under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). Our collaborative structure, with 49% of the share capital held by the government and 51% by the private sector, enables us to be the principal architects of India's skill ecosystem.

Purpose:
One of the major pillars of NSDC’s strength are Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), which play a vital role in bridging the gap between what the industry demands and what the skilling requirements ought to be. The SSCs operate as an autonomous body and could be registered as a Section 8 Company. NSDC is mandated to initiate and incubate SSCs with initial seed funding to facilitate their growth and enable them to achieve self-sustainability in a time bound manner. Currently the main purpose of this position to strategies and envision the structure, Governance and operations of sector skills council and suggest innovative ways by benchmarking with Global best practices.
Build and implement NSDC strategy for ensuring performance and governance of Sector Skills Councils.
Knowledge and Experience:
Education Qualifications:Master’s in Business administration,CS Preferred, however same is not mandatory.
Experience Minimum 20 years of experience in relevant field like Operations Management of multiple Subsidiaries. Business Performance
Monitoring. Managing Multiple Boardsand Senior Industry Stakeholders. Exposure with Skilling ecosystem
Language Skills:Must be fluent in English, Hindi. Local language would be an added advantage.
