Job summary

Umanist NA in Gurugram seeks an experienced Vice President of Architecture to provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership to the architectural design function. The role focuses on guiding design quality, standards, and delivery across large-scale building and infrastructure projects.

You will lead architectural teams, mentor engineers, ensure compliance with Indian codes and international standards, and collaborate with clients and senior stakeholders to drive innovative solutions

Qualifications

• Must have 15+ years in Architectural Design.
• Must have 10+ years of BIM experience.
• Must have 15+ years of Project Management experience.
• Must have 15+ years experience with Building Codes & Regulations.
• Strong experience leading Architectural Design teams.
• Experience in large-scale/complex projects (high-rise, residential, airports).
• Ability to work with international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Architectural Design function and provide strategic and technical direction to architecture teams.
• Establish and implement architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices across projects.
• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale and complex architectural projects.
• Ensure design quality, consistency, constructability, and compliance across projects.
• Provide architectural guidance based on building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Lead and mentor large architectural teams and drive team performance.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, project teams, and senior leadership.
• Drive effective design coordination and project management.
• Evaluate design challenges and develop innovative and practical solutions.
• Leverage modern Architectural software and BIM workflows to improve project delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Indian and international codes and standards.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement in architectural processes, standards, and technical practices.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Vice President Architecture to provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership to the architectural design function.

The role will involve leading architectural teams, driving design quality and standards, managing large-scale projects, supporting project delivery, and working closely with senior stakeholders and clients across complex building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Must-Have Skills

• 1520 years of overall experience in Architecture.
• 15+ years of Architectural Design experience.
• 10+ years of BIM experience.
• 15+ years of Project Management experience.
• 15+ years of experience with Building Codes & Regulations.
• Strong experience leading Architectural Design teams.
• Experience in large-scale/complex projects, particularly:

• High-rise Commercial Buildings
• Large Residential / Mixed-Use Developments
• Airports

• Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction practices, and design coordination.
• Strong leadership, team management, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder/client management skills.
• B.Arch / M.Arch qualification from a recognized institution.
• Strong hands-on understanding of modern architectural and BIM tools.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with international codes and standards, particularly:

• US UK / Europe APAC

• Experience handling projects across international markets.
• Experience with large landscape projects.
• Exposure to multidisciplinary Building & Infrastructure projects.
• Experience driving architectural innovation, process improvement, and design standards at an organizational level.

Candidate Criteria

• Must be comfortable working 100% from office in Gurugram.
• Strong senior-level leadership and people-management experience is essential.
• Candidates should have significant exposure to large-scale building/infrastructure projects.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills are required.

Interview Process

• 23 rounds including HOD / Senior Leadership and Technical discussions
• Face-to-Face round in Gurugram Client round
