Job summary

Spinnaker, a world-class dry bulk shipper, is expanding its India operations in Gurugram. We seek experienced Vessel Operators to manage day-to-day commercial voyage operations for time- and voyage-chartered ships, supporting global marine operations.

You will coordinate with Chartering, Marine, Legal, Insurance, and other teams, ensure adherence to charter party terms, monitor market trends, and maintain clear communication with ship owners and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to Charter Party agreements.
• Coordinate with Chartering, Marine, Legal, Insurance and others to enable seamless operations.
• Ensure voyages comply with safety standards, contractual obligations and vetting requirements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with ship owners, charterers and brokers.
• Prepare and process voyage instructions, stow plans, bunker and cargo documentation.
• Monitor market trends and freight rates relevant to dry bulk shipping.

Job description

An exciting role to work as part of a World-Class Shipping Division; a leading Dry Bulk Shipper, looking to expand their Operations domain across their India location.

We are seeking experienced Vessel Operators who will manage the day-to-day commercial voyage operations of both time-chartered and voyage-chartered dry bulk vessels whilst supporting on management for worldwide marine operations closely.

In this pivotal role, you will..

• Ensure strict adherence to Charter Party agreements
• Coordinate closely with multiple departments—including Chartering, Marine, Legal, Insurance, and others—to facilitate seamless operations
• Ensure safety - operating voyages in compliance with contractual obligations, organisational safety standards, and vetting requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with ship owners, charterers, brokers, port agents, and other stakeholders.
• Preparing and processing all required documentation, including voyage instructions, Stow plans, Bunker and Cargo documentation.
• Monitor market trends, freight rates, and sector developments relevant to dry bulk shipping; to ensure voyages are capitalized for commercial opportunities.

About you

• A Degree/Diploma in Marine or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a bulk ship operator role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vessel owners, and internal stakeholders.
