A leading seed VC firm is seeking a Forward Deployed Investor to engage with AI-native startups led by Indian founders. The ideal candidate will immerse themselves in the AI landscape, write insights, and actively connect with builders. This role requires a passion for AI and the ability to think and act proactively in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Strong interest in AI and frontier tech.
• Experience with startups or venture capital is a plus.
• Ability to write effectively and clearly convey ideas.

Responsabilidades

• Engage actively with AI builders and startups.
• Write insightful thesis drafts and POVs.
• Organize introductions between founders.
• Creates WhatsApp groups to connect founders with investors and mentors.
• Spends time embedded with builders early to help navigate the idea maze.
• Reviews open-source repos as if they were founder résumés for signal.
• Keeps up with AI webinars and prosumer tool communities to absorb advances.
• Respects founders' time and acts with founder mindset.
• Believes access is earned, not given, and works to gain it.
• Writes regularly to share ideas and build an outlet for thoughts.
• Reads ArXiv, pricing pages, and X threads for insights.
• Tracks LLM evals with the diligence of IRRs.
• Sees market wedges before the world does and moves fast.
• Engages with student and CS clubs to scout talent and dealflow.
• Prefers product-focused discussions, market-thinking, and proactive action.

At Boldcap, we back AI-native startups led by Indian founders building for the world. We move fast, bet early, and go deep. We’re now looking for a Forward Deployed Investor to join our core team, someone who gets the AI moment we’re in and wants to be in the room where it’s all happening.

If you’ve been tracking frontier AI papers, new model launches, stealth startups, or open-source infra before it hits TechCrunch, we want to work with you.

What You’ll Actually Do (Who is an FDI?):

1. Writes thesis drafts in Claude like it’s their second brain and arrives at POVs across categories and markets.
2. Feels that meeting builders is play, not work.
3. Doesn’t shy away from slipping into DMs when needed and finds a way to get introduced.
4. Spins up WhatsApp groups to make intros for founders they meet.
5. Embeds forward into builders stuck in the idea maze before there’s a product.
6. Watches open-source repos like they’re founder résumés.
7. Lurks in AI webinars and prosumer tool community groups to absorb new information.
8. Respects the founder’s time because they think like one.
9. Doesn’t believe in “lack of access” as an excuse but believes in earning the right to invest.
10. Writes because they can’t not write; ideas and thoughts need an outlet.
11. Reads ArXiv, pricing pages, and comments on X threads.
12. Tracks LLM evals harder than IRRs.
13. Sees the wedge before the world sees the category.
14. Spends time in student clubs and computer science clubs in colleges.
15. Talks in products. Thinks in markets. Acts before consensus.
