Job description

Venture Fund – seed-stage, AI-native

Investment Analyst – Bangalore – 5 days in office

If it shipped yesterday, you’ve already used it.

BoldCap writes first cheques into outlier AI researchers and technical founders building toward AGI. We’re hiring analysts who are already living in that world – not people who’d like to learn about it.

What the job actually is:
  • – Build first-principles market maps of AI categories before there’s a category name – architectures, model layers, tooling, applied verticals.
  • – Run primary research at volume. Forty-plus operators and researchers calling on a thesis is normal, not heroic.
  • – Diligence deeply technical founders. You’ll need to hold your own on what their model does, why the approach is non‑obvious, and where it breaks.
  • – Source from where research is made – paper feeds, open‑source repos, lab groups, ICLR / ICML / NeurIPS circles – and bring names to the partners before they’re consensus.
  • – Write the thesis memo and defend it in the room. Clear writing is the deliverable.
Who we’re looking for:
  • – Obsessive about AI, demonstrably. You track releases, papers and launches daily, and your instinct on seeing a new model or tool is to go build something with it that week. We will ask you what you’ve tried recently and what surprised you.
  • – Research‑first, not headline‑first. You can go three layers past the summary – read the paper, understand the method, explain the trade‑off to a non‑technical partner in two sentences.
  • – Strong technical or quantitative grounding. Engineering, CS, maths or research background; comfort with code and with reading ML literature.
  • – A record of hard, competitive things. Olympiads, Inter‑IIT or comparable tech meets, research labs, hackathons, Formula Student or similar build teams, debating, a side project with real users – evidence you chase difficulty for its own sake.
  • – Sharp on the page and in the room. You’ll write memos partners act on and talk to founders who are further ahead than you.
  • – 2-6 years out. Prior VC experience is welcome, not required.
Read this part before you apply:

This is five days a week in the Bangalore office, and the work doesn’t respect a calendar. Deals move over weekends; calls come in and we expect them picked up. That intensity only makes sense if the AI space is what you’d be reading about on a Sunday anyway. If it isn’t, this role will wear you down – and you should skip it.
