Job summary

Oben Electric is seeking a skilled Supplier Development professional to lead onboarding, auditing, and process validation with external suppliers in the automotive sector.

You will drive cross-functional documentation, support DFM/ECN activities, and ensure PPAP/compliance. The role requires strong communication, decision making under pressure, and 4+ years in automotive supplier management.

Qualifications

• BE/ME EEE/ECE engineering degree required.
• 4+ years in automotive supplier development/management.
• Experience with zero-based costing and supplier audits.

Job description

ROLE

• – Support Supplier on-boarding process from Identification, Qualification, Audits, Assessments, Contracting to Process validation.
• – Drive documentation related to CFT meetings for requirement gathering, supplier identification and evaluation.
• – Perform Supplier quality assurance function for DFM study and provide technical support to freeze drawings related to NPD or ECN.
• – Conduct Supplier visits to ensure process adherence as per the quality expectations set forth.
• – Bridge the gap between Finance and engineering team to realise the should-cost and take action for necessary ECN changes related to VAVE.
• – Support imports and exports documentation for global sourcing commodities.
• – Provide zero‑base cost documentation support and drive ECR.
• – Support Supplier evaluation matrix documentation based on product cost, quality, capacity planning, delivery, part support for years in service and payment terms.
• – Conduct Supplier RM supplies evaluation study at Tier3 level to ensure timely deliverables.
• – Communicate with Supplier for non‑conformance of parts and take necessary actions till SOP.
• – Support PPAP documentation with Quality to closure.

REQUIREMENTS

• – Prior experience as Supplier development & management in automotive industry.
• – Excellence in new supplier identification, evaluation & management.
• – Experience with zero‑based costing and supplier audits for evaluation.
• – Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFM, FMEA, SPC and IATF16949 & ISO9001.
• – Ability to thrive under pressure to meet stringent timelines, excellent communication and decision‑making skills.
• – B.E/M.E, E&E/ECE engineering degree with minimum 4years’ experience; automotive industry experience is required.
