Job summary

Oben Electric, Bengaluru, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to identify and onboard suppliers, drive APQP and PPAP processes, and ensure DFM and FMEA standards are met for EV components.

You will coordinate with Cross-Functional teams to manage costs, quality, and delivery while supporting global sourcing and ECN changes for VAVE programs. Automotive domain experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellence in new supplier identification, evaluation and management.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFM, FMEA, SPC and IATF 16949 & ISO 9001.
• Experience in completing one complete product development cycle for a vehicle is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier onboarding: identification, qualification, audits, assessments, contracting and process validation.
• Drive documentation for CFT meetings for requirement gathering and supplier evaluation.
• Perform supplier quality assurance for DFM and provide technical support for NPD/ECN drawings.
• Visit suppliers to ensure process adherence to quality expectations.
• Bridge gaps between Finance and Engineering to realize should-cost and implement ECN changes for VAVE.
• Support imports/exports documentation for global sourcing.
• Provide ECR and zero-base cost documentation support.
• Support supplier evaluation matrix on product cost, quality, capacity, delivery and after-sales support.
• Conduct supplier RM evaluation at Tier 3 to ensure timely deliverables.
• Communicate with suppliers for non-conformances and drive corrective actions through SOP.
• Assist PPAP documentation with Quality to closure.

Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support Supplier on-boarding process from Identification,Qualification, Audits, Assessments, Contracting to Process validation.

- Drive documentation related to CFT meetings for Requirementgathering, supplier identification and evaluation.

- Perform Supplier quality assurance function for DFM study andprovide technical support to freeze drawings related to NPD or ECN.

- Supplier visits to ensure process adherence as per the Qualityexpectations set forth.

- Bridge the gap between Finance and engineering team to realisethe should-cost and take action for necessary ECN changes related to VAVE.

- Support Imports and Exports documentation for Global sourcingcommodities.

- Zero base cost documentation support and drive ECR.

- Support Supplier evaluation matrix document basis Product cost,quality, capacity planning, delivery, part support for years in service andpayment terms.

- Supplier RM supplies evaluation study at Tier 3 level to ensuretimely deliverables.

- Communication with Supplier for non-conformance of parts andtake necessary actions till SOP.

- Support PPAP document with Quality to closure.

Requirements

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

- Excellence in New supplier identification, evaluation &management.

- Previous Instincts upon zero based costing and Supplier Auditsfor evaluation.

- Knowledge about APQP, PPAP, DFM, FMEA, SPC and IATF 16949 &ISO 9001.

- Preferred: Completed onecomplete product development cycle for a vehicle.

- Ability to thrive under pressure to meet stringent timelines,excellent communication and decision-making skills.

- B.E/M.EE&E/ ECEengineering with min. 4 years’ experience. Automotive Industry experience is must.
