Job summary

Vipul Organics in Maharashtra is seeking a senior chemist to lead Vat Dye development, testing and shade matching. You will evaluate dye performance, document results and guide trials ensuring quality alignment with customer and market needs.

The role requires extensive lab work, collaboration with Production and Quality teams, and timely reporting to support commercialization timelines.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field.
• 26 years of relevant experience in Dyes, Pigments or Specialty Chemicals.
• Hands-on Vat Dyes laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with laboratory testing, product development and chemical trials.
• Knowledge of dye testing, colour evaluation and shade matching.
• Willingness to relocate/commute to Ambernath, Kalyan, Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Dombivli or nearby.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and optimize existing Vat Dye products and shades.
• Test and evaluate Vat Dyes per approved specs and methods.
• Carry out shade matching and colour performance testing.
• Evaluate product parameters such as strength, shade and tone.
• Conduct trials based on customer, market and business needs.
• Maintain records of laboratory trials, formulations and results.
• Prepare development and trial reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Support production during scale-up and commercialization.
• Investigate issues and assist troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Technical teams.
• Ensure timely completion of development activities.
• Follow SOPs, quality systems and safe chemical handling.
• Maintain lab chemicals, samples and equipment.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the development, improvement and optimization of existing Vat Dye products and shades.
• Perform testing and evaluation of Vat Dyes as per approved specifications and test methods.
• Carry out shade matching, comparative evaluation and colour performance testing.
• Evaluate product parameters such as strength, shade, tone and other relevant physical and chemical properties.
• Conduct trials based on customer, market and business requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory trials, formulations, test results and observations.
• Prepare development and trial reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Support Production during scale-up and commercialization of laboratory-developed products.
• Investigate product, process and batch-related technical issues and support troubleshooting.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Technical teams to resolve development and quality-related concerns.
• Ensure timely completion of development activities to support business requirements and commercialization timelines.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, quality systems, EHS requirements and safe chemical handling practices.
• Maintain laboratory chemicals, samples, standards, equipment and documentation in an organized manner.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or equivalent.
• 26 years of relevant experience in Dyes, Pigments or Specialty Chemicals.
• Hands-on experience in Vat Dyes laboratory work will be strongly preferred.
• Experience in laboratory testing, product development and chemical trials.
• Knowledge of dye testing, colour evaluation and shade matching.
• Experience in troubleshooting and process/product optimization.
• Exposure to manufacturing scale-up will be an added advantage.
• Ability to independently plan, execute and document laboratory trials.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and observation skills.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Candidates residing in or willing to relocate/commute to Ambernath, Kalyan, Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Dombivli or nearby locations will be preferred.
