Job summary

CXOntology seeks a hands-on UX and Experience Designer to research, design, and validate enterprise websites, ecommerce, and iOS and Android mobile apps. Own accessible experiences from discovery through release and ongoing MSO.

They work with a suite of platforms (Drupal/Acquia, Optimizely, Sitecore, AEM, Contentstack, Shopify, BigCommerce, commercetools) to deliver cohesive digital experiences. Strong emphasis on WCAG 2.2 AA compliance and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in UX/UI for enterprise websites or ecommerce, including shipped mobile apps.
• Portfolio showing research, design decisions, iterations, and production outcomes.
• Advanced Figma auto layout, components, variants, prototyping, libraries, and developer handoff.
• Practical user research, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Working knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Android patterns, and accessibility.
• Clear workshop facilitation and client communication; own deadlines and implementation quality.

Responsibilities

• Research and Experience Strategy: Run interviews, stakeholder workshops, and usability tests; synthesize findings with analytics and support feedback.
• Create journey maps, information architecture, and user flows; define hypotheses, success criteria, and constraints; explain design tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Our website and commerce platforms include Drupal/Acquia, Optimizely, Sitecore, AEM, Contentstack, Shopify, BigCommerce, and commercetools.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Experience Strategy

• Run interviews, stakeholder workshops, and usability tests. Combine findings with analytics and support feedback to identify user problems and priorities.
• Create journey maps, information architecture, and user flows. Define hypotheses, success criteria, and constraints; explain design tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Website and Mobile App Design

• Create wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes in Figma. Cover navigation, search, product discovery, onboarding, accounts, forms, and checkout.
• Specify iOS and Android patterns, gestures, permissions, notifications, authentication, and loading, error, empty, and offline states across devices.
• Design for accessibility and validate with developers and QA against WCAG 2.2 AA for web and native app guidance. Address contrast, keyboard focus, touch targets, and error recovery.

Design Systems and Delivery

• Build reusable components, variants, design tokens, and interaction states. Document usage to maintain consistent branding across web and mobile.
• Partner with product and analytics teams on instrumentation and experiments. Review delivery weekly and outcomes monthly to prioritize improvements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years in UX/UI for enterprise websites or ecommerce, including shipped mobile apps.
• A portfolio of website and mobile projects showing your own research, design decisions, iterations, and production outcomes. Explain changes made after testing; anonymized case studies are welcome.
• Advanced Figma auto layout, components, variants, variables, prototyping, libraries, and developer handoff. Strong visual judgment in hierarchy, typography, spacing, and feedback.
• Practical user research, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design. Turn incomplete or conflicting feedback into testable decisions.
• Working knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Android patterns, and accessibility. Understand responsive web, native behavior, content constraints, and data-dependent states.
• Clear workshop facilitation and client communication. Collaborate with analysts, engineers, content teams, and QA; own deadlines and implementation quality, raise blockers early, and learn new platforms.

Preferred Skills:

• Design for our CMS/ecommerce platforms, headless websites, portals, or dashboards, including reusable platform components and content workflows.
• Collaboration with iOS/Android or React Native/Flutter teams, including device testing and localization.
• Product analytics, GA4, behavior analysis, conversion optimization, and A/B testing, with attention to sample size and measurement limits.
• Delivery or MSO for U.S. or international clients across multiple workstreams.

Success in the Role

Better task completion, fewer usability and accessibility defects, and consistent design-system adoption. Validate conversion, engagement, and feature‑adoption improvements against research and production baselines.
