Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Utility Design Engineer to join our thermal power plant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing utility systems, including water treatment, cooling systems, and electrical distribution, to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the power plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop utility systems, including:
- Water treatment systems (raw water, treated water, and wastewater)
- Cooling systems (cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc.)
- Electrical distribution systems (switchgear, transformers, etc.)
- Compressed air systems
- Fire protection systems
2. Conduct design calculations, simulations, and analysis for utility systems.
3. Piping layout of Water ,steam, compressed air, instrument air systems.
4. Prepare and review design documents, including P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and layout
drawings.
5. Collaborate with other departments in preparation of equipment datasheet, specification
to ensure design meets operational requirements.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements & industry design standards.
7. Identify opportunities for design improvement and implement value in engineering solutions
Qualification & Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field).
2. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in utility design or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of utility system design principles, including:

- AutoCAD
- Plant Design Management System (PDMS)
- CAESAR II (pipe stress analysis) or similar
5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed College / University.
2. Experience with Design related to Plant utilities of Steel Plants /Power plant design
3. Certification in software design or relevant tools.
