Job Purpose
To execute and manage erection, commissioning, operation,and maintenance of utility systems including Boilers, RO Plant, ETP, STP, DMPlant, Softener Plant, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems. The role isresponsible for ensuring uninterrupted utility availability, water treatmentefficiency, steam generation reliability, environmental compliance, costoptimization, and safe plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Superviseerection, installation, testing, and commissioning of Boilers, RO, ETP,STP, DM, UF, Softener, MVR, MEE, ATFD, and ZLD systems.
- ReviewP&IDs, GA drawings, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, andutility piping drawings.
- Monitorsite execution activities, contractor productivity, material availability,and project schedules.
2. Boiler Operation & Maintenance
- Operateand maintain Coal Fired/Gas Fired/Oil Fired Boilers, Waste Heat RecoveryBoilers (WHRB), Steam Distribution Systems, and Boiler Auxiliaries.
- Ensuresafe and efficient steam generation as per production requirements.
- Planand execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
- Ensurecompliance with statutory inspections and boiler regulations.
- Conductroot cause analysis of boiler trips and operational issues.
- Operateand maintain RO, DM Plant, SoftenerPlant, UF System, ETP, STP, and ZLD facilities.
- Ensureavailability and reliability of pumps, blowers, filters, clarifiers,dosing systems, agitators, and related equipment.
- Planpreventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
4. ETP, STP & ZLD Operations
- OperateETP and STP facilities in compliance with environmental norms.
- Manageclarifiers, aeration systems, sludge dewatering, biological treatmentsystems, and filtration units.
- Operateand monitor ZLD facilities
5. Cost Control & Utility Optimization
- Prepareand monitor monthly utility operating costs.
- Preparemonthly MIS reports and utility performance reports.
- Identifyopportunities for energy conservation, water recovery, cost reduction, andprocess improvement.
- Monitorspecific steam consumption and specific water consumption.
- Ensurecompliance with Boiler Regulations, Pollution Control Board requirements,and plant safety standards.
- Conductsafety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- SupportISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Ensuresafe storage and handling of boiler and water treatment chemicals.
7. Team & Contractor Management
- Superviseoperators, technicians, engineers, and contract manpower.
- Monitorcontractor performance, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinatewith Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Utility, and Productionteams.
Technical Skills
- Hands-onexperience in Boiler Operation & Maintenance, Boiler Water Chemistry, ROPlant, ETP, STP, DM Plant, Softener Plant, UF System, ZLD Systems,MVR, MEE& ATFD Operations
- Abilityto read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and utility process flowdiagrams.
- Understandingof environmental compliance and statutory utility requirements.
Functional Skills
- Utilitymanagement and troubleshooting.
- Costoptimization and budgeting.
- Contractorand manpower management.
- Projectexecution and commissioning.
Software Skills
- SAPPM/MM Module (Preferred).
- MSExcel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understandingof DCS/SCADA systems will be an added advantage.
Experience Requirement
- 5-8years of experience in operation, maintenance, erection, and commissioningof Boilers, RO Plant, ETP, STP, DM Plant, ZLD Systems, Water TreatmentPlants, Utility Systems
- Experiencein Steel Plants, CRM, Metal Industries, Chemical Industries, or LargeProcess Industries preferred.
