Job summary

Jindal Stainless (JSL) in Kharagpur, West Bengal, invites applications for an Assistant Engineer to manage erection, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of utilities including boilers, RO, ETP, STP, DM plant, softener, and ZLD systems. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Boiler Operation Maintenance and water treatment systems.
• Ability to read PIDs, GA drawings, and process flow diagrams.
• Experience with SAP PM/MM module is preferred.
• MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with RO/ETP/STP/DM/ZLD operations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supervise erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of Boilers and water treatment systems.
• Review PIDs, GA drawings, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts.
• Operate and maintain Boiler systems and WHRB/steam distribution.
• Operate RO, DM, Softener, ETP, STP, and ZLD facilities.
• Prepare monthly MIS and utility performance reports.
• Ensure safety and contractor performance.

Experience: 3-5 Years

Job Purpose

To execute and manage erection, commissioning, operation,
and maintenance of utility systems including Boilers, RO Plant, ETP, STP, DM
Plant, Softener Plant, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems. The role is
responsible for ensuring uninterrupted utility availability, water treatment
efficiency, steam generation reliability, environmental compliance, cost
optimization, and safe plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution, Erection Commissioning

• Supervise
  erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of Boilers, RO, ETP,
  STP, DM, UF, Softener, MVR, MEE, ATFD, and ZLD systems.
• Review
  PIDs, GA drawings, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and
  utility piping drawings.
• Monitor
  site execution activities, contractor productivity, material availability,
  and project schedules.

2. Boiler Operation Maintenance

• Operate
  and maintain Coal Fired/Gas Fired/Oil Fired Boilers, Waste Heat Recovery
  Boilers (WHRB), Steam Distribution Systems, and Boiler Auxiliaries.
• Ensure
  safe and efficient steam generation as per production requirements.

3. Water Treatment Plant Operation Maintenance

• Operate
  and maintain ?RO, DM Plant, Softener
  Plant, UF System, ETP, STP, and ZLD facilities.
• Ensure
  availability and reliability of pumps, blowers, filters, clarifiers,
  dosing systems, agitators, and related equipment.
• Plan
  preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

4. ETP, STP ZLD Operations

• Operate
  ETP and STP facilities in compliance with environmental norms.
• Operate
  and monitor ZLD facilities

5. Cost Control Utility Optimization

• Prepare
  monthly MIS reports and utility performance reports.

6. Safety, Environment Compliance

• Ensure
  safe storage and handling of boiler and water treatment chemicals.

7. Team Contractor Management

• Supervise
  operators, technicians, engineers, and contract manpower.
• Monitor
  contractor performance, quality, and productivity.
