Job summary

Larsen & Toubro seeks a seasoned process engineer to drive the design of fuel gas, water treatment, and utility systems. You will develop PFDs/P&IDs with a robust control philosophy and coordinate vendor drawings for complex packages.

The role emphasizes hands-on system design, DBR preparation, and bid-evaluation expertise to ensure compliant, cost-efficient solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in process engineering for fuel gas, fuel oil, steam, utilities and water/wastewater systems.
• Knowledge of ZLD systems and ARP for steel/non-ferrous industries.
• Ability to prepare DBRs and design criteria.
• Experience with equipment specs, bid evaluation and vendor drawings review.
• Ability to develop PFDs and P&IDs with proper control philosophy.
• 3D model review and coordination for equipment and piping.

Job description

Core Technical Experience

• Process engineering of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, Utility Gases, Water Supply & Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment Systems, including:
• Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems
• Acid Regeneration Plants (ARP) for steel and non-ferrous industries
• Strong exposure to selection, design, and specification of mechanical equipment, including:
• Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Condensers

Engineering & Design Capabilities

Hands-on Experience In

• System design and development
• Preparation of Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Design Criteria
• Technical specifications for equipment and packages
• Bid evaluation and technical clarification
• Scrutiny and approval of vendor drawings & calculations
• Detailed engineering of water and utility systems.

Proficient In

• Equipment and piping layout development
• Review and coordination of 3D models for equipment and piping

Process Engineering & Analysis

Strong Knowledge In

• Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with proper control philosophy
• Basic unit sizing and process calculations
• Hydraulic design of piping networks
• Pump and compressor head selection
• Exposure to piping stress analysis

Software & Tools

• Experience or working knowledge of engineering software such as:
• PIPENET (Standard Module)
• CAESAR II
• EPANET

Knowledge of hydraulic and lubrication systems considered an added advantage
