Job summary

Akshara Finalytics in India is seeking a night-shift Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for US and Canadian clients. You will handle AP/AR, bank reconciliations, GL maintenance, journals, accruals, and month-end closing using QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar tools.

You will prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, applying US GAAP and Canadian ASPE/IFRS as applicable, ensuring accurate, timely deliverables.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of US and/or Canadian accounting and bookkeeping.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.
• Expertise in AP, AR, bank reconciliation, general ledger, and month-end closing.
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Understanding of US GAAP and/or Canadian ASPE/IFRS, as relevant.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
• Ability to independently manage client accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Night-shift availability overlapping US/Canada business hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for US and Canadian clients.
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.
• Perform general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and month-end closing.
• Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Apply US GAAP and Canadian standards (ASPE/IFRS) as applicable.
• Manage operations using QuickBooks Online, Xero, or other accounting software.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end/year-end closing, schedules, and audits.
• Support GST/HST-related bookkeeping for Canadian clients where applicable.
• Coordinate with international clients and internal teams for timely deliverables.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, financial schedules, and audit requirements.
• Support GST/HST-related bookkeeping and account reconciliations for Canadian clients, where applicable.
• Communicate with international clients and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
