Job summary

Team Computers is seeking a skilled network engineer in Chennai to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. You will manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs while ensuring security, performance, and reliability across global operations.

You will configure protocols (OSPF, BGP, VPNs), enforce firewall policies, monitor QoS metrics, and participate in on-call rotation. Travel abroad may be required in coordination with APAC operations.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Cisco routing, switching, Meraki wireless, and FortiGate firewalls
• Exposure to QoS, IPSLA, DMVPN, WAN, MPLS, SIP, PRI, IPSEC, and STP
• Cisco experience of 5-10 years including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, IPSec, and SSL VPN
• Fortinet experience of 3-4 years
• Added advantage: Zscaler experience
• Added advantage: Cisco DNA / ISE experience
• Candidate should be capable of handling global operations
• Should support APAC coordination, site-down support, and emergency on-call support after office hours
• May need to travel abroad if required

Responsibilities

• Network implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure components (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs).
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices and protocols (VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VPNs).
• Network security: implement firewall policies and IDS.
• Monitor network performance and optimize efficiency.
• Incident response and resolution for network issues; escalate as needed.
• Documentation and reporting of configurations, policies, and metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support end-users; participate in on-call rotation.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• 1.NetworkImplementation and Maintenance: Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance ofnetworkinfrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• 2. Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshootnetworkdevices and protocols, including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• 3.NetworkSecurity: Implement and maintain security measures, such as access controls, firewall policies, and intrusion detection systems, to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• 4. Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitornetworkperformance and utilization, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• 5. Incident Response and Resolution: Respond tonetwork-related incidents and service requests, diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner, and expand complex problems to senior engineers or vendors as needed.
• 6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation ofnetworkconfigurations, policies, and procedures, and generate reports to track performance metrics and compliance requirements.
• 7. Collaboration andSupport: Collaborate with cross-functional teams tosupportbusiness initiatives and projects, provide technical guidance and assistance to end-users, and participate in on-call rotation schedules.

Mandatory Skills Set

• Strong hands-on experience in Cisco routing, switching, Meraki wireless, and FortiGate firewalls
