Job summary

SGT University in Gurugram is seeking an experienced L3 Network & Security Engineer to design, operate and troubleshoot large-scale campus networks with emphasis on high availability.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of hands-on enterprise networking and security, CCNA mandatory, and CCNP preferred, with hands-on with Ruckus, Sophos, Meraki, VPNs and EDR/XDR. 247 support readiness is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or related field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking and security.
• CCNA Mandatory.
• CCNP Routing & Switching / CCNP Enterprise – Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot large-scale enterprise/campus networks (Core/Distribution/Access).
• Oversee multi-building network infra, WAN/Internet, high-availability environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLAN, Inter-VLAN Routing, Static Routing, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, ARP, STP/RSTP and LACP.
• Handle complex L2/L3 issues including routing problems, latency and outages.
• Manage Ruckus ICX L3 switches: configuration, upgrades, backups, troubleshooting.
• Configure and manage Sophos XGS Firewall: policies, NAT, VLAN interfaces, routing, IPS, web filtering.
• Configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site IPsec VPN and Remote Access/SSL VPN.
• Manage Ruckus Wireless Controllers and APs: SSIDs, WLANs, roaming, RF troubleshooting.
• Monitor with NMS and monitoring tools; handle L3 escalations and RCA.
• Support Enterprise Antivirus, EDR/XDR and endpoint security.

L3 Network & Security Engineer

Job Summary:

SGT University is looking for an experienced L3 Network & Security Engineer with 58 years of hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise/campus network infrastructure.

The role will be responsible for L3 networking, firewall, wireless, VPN, network security, monitoring and incident management in a high-availability environment.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical exposure to Ruckus ICX L3 Switching, Sophos XGS Firewall, Ruckus Wireless, Cisco Meraki, VPN, Point-to-Point Wireless and EDR/XDR solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage and troubleshoot large-scale enterprise/campus networks, including Core, Distribution and Access layers.
• Manage multi-building network infrastructure, WAN/Internet connectivity and high-availability network environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLAN, Inter-VLAN Routing, Static Routing, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, ARP, STP/RSTP and LACP.
• Handle complex L2/L3 issues including routing problems, packet loss, latency, network outages and performance degradation.
• Manage Ruckus ICX L3 switches, including configuration, upgrades, backups and troubleshooting.
• Configure and manage Sophos XGS Firewall, including firewall policies, NAT, VLAN interfaces, routing, IPS, web filtering and application control.
• Configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site IPsec VPN and Remote Access/SSL VPN, including Phase 1/Phase 2 connectivity issues.
• Manage Ruckus Wireless Controllers and Access Points, including SSIDs, WLANs, VLAN mapping, authentication, roaming and RF troubleshooting.
• Manage Cisco Meraki Dashboard, switches and wireless access points.
• Manage and troubleshoot Point-to-Point wireless links, including signal strength, SNR, interference, throughput and link stability.
• Monitor network and security infrastructure using NMS and monitoring tools.
• Handle L3 escalations, critical incidents, RCA and network performance issues.
• Support Enterprise Antivirus, EDR/XDR and endpoint security solutions.
• Coordinate with OEMs, ISPs and technology vendors for infrastructure and security issues.
• Maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, SOPs and operational records.
• Follow ITIL-based Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
• Support a 247 mission-critical IT environment with minimum network downtime.
