Guideline Inc. is seeking a Live Underwriter for our Pune office, working a US night shift. Immediate notice period; skilled professionals with mortgage underwriting expertise are preferred.

The role demands at least 2+ years in underwriting and 1+ year in live underwriting, with familiarity in FNMA, FHLMC, and GNMA guidelines. You will review and approve or counter loan files, ensuring compliance and timely decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of underwriting experience.
• 1+ year in live underwriting.
• 2+ years in underwriting overall.

Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite U.S. residential mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with investor guidelines.
• Familiarity with GNMA and other investor guidelines is a strong plus.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of borrower’s credit, income, asset, and collateral (4Cs).
• Perform income analysis from salaried, self-employed, rental, and other sources, including tax documents.
• Review credit reports to evaluate trade lines and discrepancies.
• Validate collateral and property valuations and assess appraisal documentation.
• Verify asset documentation and make independent underwriting decisions per policies.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and clients.
• Deliver quality outcomes while meeting turnaround time and accuracy metrics.
