Job summary

Canis Talent Solutions in Chennai is seeking an experienced CNC Turning professional to plan and supervise turning production, meet targets, and optimize processes.

Must have 8+ years in CNC turning programming and production, hands-on with Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi/Mazatrol, GD&T, and tooling. Willingness to work in shifts and guide shop-floor operators.

Qualifications

• DME/Diploma or BE/BTech in mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of CNC turning programming and production experience.
• Hands-on with Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi/Mazatrol controls.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, drawings, and measuring tools.
• Experience in process planning, cycle-time calculations and productivity.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Plan and supervise CNC Turning production as per production schedules.
• Achieve production, quality, productivity and delivery targets.
• Handle CNC programming, machine setting, offsets, tooling and process parameters.
• Work on Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi / Mazatrol CNC controls.
• Read engineering drawings, GD&T, process sheets and work instructions.
• Optimize cutting parameters, tooling, tool life and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot machining, dimensional and tooling issues.
• Monitor OEE, rejection, rework, downtime and productivity.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, Planning and NPD teams.
• Support new component development, process trials and process validation.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Train and guide CNC operators/setters and ensure shop-floor safety.

Preferred candidate profile

• DME / Diploma Mechanical or B.E./B.Tech Mechanical.
• 8+ years of experience in CNC Turning Programming & Production.
• Experience in CNC Turning / VTL / Machine Shop industry.
• Hands-on experience with Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi / Mazatrol controls.
• Good knowledge of G-Code, M-Code, CNC setting, offsets, tooling and work holding.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T and measuring instruments.
• Experience in process planning, cycle-time calculation and productivity improvement.
• Knowledge of SPC, 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, RCA, 5S, Kaizen, TPM and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong manpower handling, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
