Job summary

SYSTRA in India invites a senior tunnel design leader to oversee TBM and NATM tunnel design, lead engineers, and ensure compliance with international codes on major projects. Based in Delhi, this on-site role requires deep geotechnical expertise and a mentoring approach.

You will drive concept to IFC/Shop drawings support, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, travel to client sites, and contribute to delivering world-class rail and metro infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BE-Civil and M.Tech in Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineering required.
• 10 to 15 years of experience leading TBM/NATM tunnel design and analysis.
• International codes compliance and construction guidance experience.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead TBM/NATM tunnels design and related calculations.
• Prepare reports in line with international codes of practice.
• Support project from conception to development and completion.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

• Take responsibility for Tunnels design (TBM and NATM).
• Prepare reports and calculations in line with International Codes of Practice.
• Assisting in the overall project from conception to development and project completion.
• Responsible for managing the Engineers of different ranks, liaising with sub-agencies and building relationship with clients.

Profile/Skills

• BE-Civil + M. Tech in Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineering.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in leading structural analysis and design of TBM/NATM tunnels ensuring compliance with international codes and providing technical guidance during construction.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide support and mentoring to others.
• Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required.
