Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale Metro, High Speed Rail and road design programs in Bengaluru. You will define scope, set schedules, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

The role requires a Master’s in civil engineering, 10+ years of project leadership, and proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD or Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience managing large-scale Metro/high-speed rail or road design projects.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management and design software.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate regular progress meetings and ensure clear communication on project status and issues.
• Oversee the development of design solutions for rail and road projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and reports.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
• Facilitate collaboration across departments and disciplines.
• Implement quality management processes and oversee quality checks to ensure high standards of deliverables.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage project changes and ensure documentation is updated.
• Monitor expenditure and ensure projects are delivered within budget.

Profile/Skills

• Master’s degree in civil engineering
• Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing large-scale Metro rail, High Speed Rail and/or road design projects.
• Proficiency in project management and design software (e.g., MS Project, Projectwise, ACC, Primavera, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of rail and road engineering design principles.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Generating a collaborative culture and engaging a team.
• Assisting in tendering processes under relevant regulations.
• Developing Scope and other Contract documentation in collaboration with Design teams.
• Making assessments of compensation events – both the time and cost.
