Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a Senior Highway Engineering Lead to steer large scale highway projects, leveraging 21 years of experience and a robust track record in design delivery.

You will mentor teams, ensure compliance with standards, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver on-time, on-budget results for diverse stakeholders in India and abroad.

This on-site role requires M.Tech in Civil Engineering and Middle East project exposure.

Qualifications

• M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering).
• 21 years of experience in highway engineering and project delivery.
• 10 years Middle East project experience.
• Strong knowledge of highway design and contract conditions.
• Skilled in templates, corridor modelling, cross-sections, and superelevation.
• Proficient in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Experienced in team management, mentoring, and staff development.
• Strong project delivery, technical coordination, and design management capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of complex highway projects, ensuring client expectations, technical standards, and business objectives are met.
• Develop and implement highway engineering solutions across multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure designs are efficient, compliant, buildable, and aligned with client and stakeholder requirements.
• Manage, mentor, coach, and review Highway Team members to strengthen capability and support business objectives.
• Direct projects from inception to completion, managing resources, priorities, programme, budget, and quality.
• Act as design deliverables checker and Highway Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) where required.
• Ensure technical accuracy, design assurance, and compliance with engineering and safety standards.
• Deliver agreed client scope in line with contractual requirements, project objectives, and industry best practice.
• Prepare progress, performance, and risk reports for leadership and project management teams.
• Achieve utilisation, budget, profitability, and on-time delivery targets.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Promote compliance with ethics, health and safety, and ISO standards.
