Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking an Engineer—Bridges to contribute to Metro & Rail bridge design across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Noida, and Bangalore. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust bridge structures and related deliverables.

You will participate in surveys, BIM-enabled design, and ensure designs comply with international codes while coordinating with clients and SYSTRA offices nationwide.

Qualifications

• BE-Civil and M.Tech in Structural Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of relevant field experience
• Experience with Sofistik, Midas and Oasys software
• Actively pursuing a professional qualification
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for Metro & Rail bridge design, viaduct & structure design.
• Prepare reports and calculations per international codes (AREMA, AASTHO, EURO).
• Plan and deliver bridge surveys and inspections, recording relevant data.
• Perform bridge assessment calculations and prepare reports.
• Manage delivery of projects.
• Prepare estimates for work items.
• Identify scope change items.
• Work on big multi-disciplinary projects using BIM.
• Ensure compliance with Systra Group policies including ethics, safety and ISO standards.

Context

In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

We are seeking applications for the position of Engineer—Bridges for Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Noida, Bangalore

Missions/Main Duties

• Take responsibility for Metro & Rail bridge design, viaduct & Structure design.
• Prepare reports and calculations in line with International Codes of Practice (AREMA, AASTHO, EURO).
• Plan and deliver bridge surveys and inspections, including recording of all relevant information
• Can perform bridge assessment calculation and report.
• Manage delivery of projects
• Preparation of estimates for work items.
• Identify scope change items.
• Knowledge of working on big multi-disciplinary projects on BIM.
• Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO Standards.

Profile/Skills

• BE-Civil + M.Tech in Structural Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of experience into relevant field.
• Experience on Software requirement Sofistik, Midas, Oasys.
• Actively working towards Professional qualification.
• Ability to work in a collaborative multi-discipline design team.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide support and mentoring to others.
• Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required.
