Job summary

FashionC Overseas Exports Pvt. Ltd. in Noida invites a Trims Sourcing Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing, development, costing and procurement of garment trims and accessories for sampling and bulk production.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of trims, an established vendor network, strong negotiation skills and the ability to coordinate with Merchandising, Design, Production, QA, Stores and Accounts. Excellent English communication is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate or post graduate in Textile, Fashion, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in trims/accessories sourcing for garment/export industry is preferred.
• Excellent English communication and vendor-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop all types of garment trims and accessories as per buyer, design and production requirements.
• Coordinate sample development and submit trims for approval within required timelines.
• Maintain updated vendor database and ensure supplier performance meets quality and delivery standards.
• Lead and guide the trims sourcing team to ensure timely completion of sampling, costing and procurement.
• Prepare regular MIS reports for management and track pending materials and cost-saving opportunities.

1. JOB SUMMARY

The Trims Sourcing Manager will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing, development, costing, negotiation, vendor management, and timely procurement of garment trims and accessories required for sampling and bulk production.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of the trims market, a reliable vendor network, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with Merchandising, Design, Production, QA, Stores and Accounts.

The role requires strong English communication skills, including professional email communication and regular interaction with suppliers and internal teams.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Trims Sourcing & Development

• Source and develop all types of garment trims and accessories as per buyer, design and production requirements.
• Handle sourcing of:
  • Labels and care labels
  • Hangtags
  • Buttons and snaps
  • Zippers
  • Elastics
  • Threads
  • Tapes and cords
  • Interlinings
  • Hooks and other closures
  • Embellishments
  • Packaging materials
  • Polybags, cartons and other packing accessories
• Develop new trims as per approved samples, specifications and buyer requirements.
• Coordinate sample development and submit trims for approval within the required timeline.
• Maintain an updated database/library of available trims and suppliers.

B. Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable new suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
• Develop alternate suppliers for critical and frequently used trims.
• Evaluate vendors based on quality, price, capacity, lead time, reliability and service.
• Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action wherever required.
• Maintain a strong and updated vendor database.

C. Costing & Negotiation

• Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate price, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, quality and delivery conditions.
• Ensure competitive sourcing without compromising quality.
• Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop alternate materials/vendors wherever possible for cost optimization.

D. Purchase & Order Management

• Raise/coordinate Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
• Ensure all purchase orders clearly mention specifications, quantity, price, delivery date and approved quality standards.
• Track order status from placement to final delivery.
• Ensure trims are available as per the production TNA.
• Escalate potential delays immediately to management and concerned departments.
• Coordinate with suppliers for urgent and priority requirements.

E. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure trims meet approved specifications, quality standards and buyer requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and approval of trims.
• Resolve quality issues, shortages, damages and discrepancies with suppliers.
• Ensure applicable buyer-specific testing and compliance requirements are followed.
• Maintain proper documentation for approvals, test reports and supplier records.

F. Internal Coordination

• Coordinate closely with:
  • Merchandising
  • Design
  • Sampling
  • Production
  • PPC
  • QA/QC
  • Stores
  • Accounts
• Understand upcoming production and sampling requirements and plan sourcing accordingly.
• Ensure smooth communication between suppliers and internal departments.
• Attend meetings related to sourcing, material planning and production requirements.

G. MIS & Documentation

• Maintain updated records of:
  • Supplier database
  • Quotations
  • Cost sheets
  • Comparative statements
  • Purchase Orders
  • Trim approvals
  • Supplier performance
  • Delivery status
  • Pending materials
  • Cost-saving initiatives
• Prepare regular Trims Sourcing MIS for management.
• Track pending and delayed materials and highlight critical issues.

H. Team Management

• Lead and guide the trims sourcing team.
• Allocate work and monitor daily sourcing activities.
• Ensure timely completion of sampling, costing, vendor development and procurement activities.
• Train team members on sourcing procedures, vendor management and documentation.
• Establish systematic sourcing processes and controls.

4. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualification:
Graduate / Post Graduate in Textile, Fashion, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.

Experience:

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in trims/accessories sourcing, purchase or procurement in the garment/apparel export industry.
• Experience with international garment buyers/brands will be preferred.
• Candidates with an established trims supplier network will be preferred.
