Responsibilities

• Coordinate with international buyers and buying houses on order requirements, delivery schedules and approvals.
• Review purchase orders, tech packs, measurement charts, and buyer manuals.
• Maintain regular communication with buyers and internal teams on order status and issues.
• Track order milestones from order confirmation through final shipment.
• Coordinate fabric & trims sourcing, testing, and approvals.
• Ensure samples, lab dips, fabrics, trims approvals, and revisions are incorporated before bulk production.

Merchandiser Export Garments

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Purpose

To manage the end-to-end merchandising process for export garment orders, ensuring timely sampling, production coordination, quality compliance, and on-time shipment in accordance with buyer requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Buyer Coordination & Order Management

• Coordinate with international buyers and buying houses regarding order requirements, specifications, delivery schedules, and approvals.


• Review purchase orders, tech packs, measurement charts, and buyer manuals.


• Maintain regular communication with buyers and internal teams regarding order status and critical issues.


• Track order milestones from order confirmation through final shipment.

B. Sampling & Product Development

• Coordinate the development of proto samples, fit samples, size sets, PP samples, and shipment samples.


• Follow up with pattern, sampling, fabric, and trims teams to ensure samples are completed on time.


• Obtain buyer approvals for samples, fabrics, trims, lab dips, prints, and embroidery.


• Ensure all comments and revisions are incorporated before bulk production.

C. Fabric & Trims Management

• Coordinate fabric and trims sourcing, procurement, testing, and approvals.


• Follow up on fabric and accessories availability to meet production timelines.


• Monitor consumption, fabric shortages, and material lead times.


• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve material-related issues.

D. Production Coordination & Follow-up

• Coordinate with production, quality, sourcing, and planning teams to monitor order progress.


• Track production status against the approved T&A (Time and Action) calendar.


• Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action to avoid shipment delays.


• Conduct regular follow-ups on cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and final inspection.

E. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure garments comply with buyer specifications, approved samples, measurements, and quality standards.


• Coordinate inline, midline, and final inspections with the quality team and external inspection agencies.


• Follow up on corrective actions for quality issues and buyer comments.


• Ensure required testing reports and shipment documentation are completed as applicable.

F. Shipment & Documentation

• Coordinate with the commercial, logistics, and documentation teams for timely shipment.


• Monitor packing lists, carton details, inspection reports, and other buyer-required documents.


• Track shipment deadlines and escalate risks to the reporting manager.


• Ensure all order records and shipment updates are maintained accurately.

G. MIS & Reporting

• Maintain order status reports, T&A calendars, sample trackers, fabric and trims trackers, and shipment plans.


• Prepare regular updates on order execution, pending approvals, production status, and delivery risks.


• Maintain accurate records of buyer communication and approvals.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of export garment merchandising and order execution.


• Understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, measurements, and quality standards.


• Knowledge of sampling processes, production planning, and shipment procedures.


• Strong buyer coordination, negotiation, communication, and follow-up skills.


• Good command of MS Excel, email communication, and merchandising MIS.


• Ability to manage multiple orders and meet tight deadlines.


• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.

4. Educational Qualification

• Graduate in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, or a related discipline preferred.


• Relevant export garment merchandising experience may be considered in place of a specific qualification.

• On-time completion of samples and buyer approvals.


• Adherence to order T&A calendars and shipment deadlines.


• Accuracy of order status reports and merchandising documentation.

6. Reporting Structure

Reports to: Merchandising Manager /Director.

Internal Coordination: Sampling, Design, Sourcing, Fabric & Trims, Production, Quality, Planning, Commercial, and Logistics teams.

7. Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands‑on experience in export garment manufacturing, international buyer coordination, sampling follow‑up, production monitoring, and shipment execution will be preferred. Experience with woven garments and relevant buyer requirements will be an advantage.
