Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Transport Planner (Middle East) in Bengaluru. You will develop and maintain transport models for large ME infrastructure projects, applying advanced traffic forecasting and data analysis to support planning and policy decisions.

You will collaborate with engineers, urban planners and policymakers to integrate transport solutions with land-use planning and sustainability goals, while mentoring junior staff in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
• 7–12 years of experience, including 3–5 years in ME sector for large-scale infrastructure/highway schemes.
• Chartered or professional accreditation desirable, not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Forecast traffic using advanced methodologies to inform planning decisions.

The Highways team in India is seeking a driven and curious Transport Planner for large‑scale infrastructure projects in the Middle East.

Job Title

Transport Planner (Middle East)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain transport models using PTV VISUM for various ME projects.
• Demonstrate proficiency in traffic forecasting and analysis, utilizing advanced methodologies to predict and manage traffic patterns effectively.
• Conduct detailed analysis of transport data to inform planning and decision‑making.
• Research and analyze transportation challenges and opportunities, developing transportation plans and policies.
• Evaluate the impact of proposed transportation projects and design transportation infrastructure such as roads, railways, and bike lanes.
• Collaborate with engineers, urban planners, and policymakers to integrate transportation solutions with land‑use planning, ensuring sustainable development.
• Provide technical oversight by reviewing and checking the work of junior team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Use transport modelling and analysis tools such as EMME, SATURN, CUBE, AIMSUN, LEGION, Junctions9, SIDRA, or Linsig.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify patterns and develop innovative solutions to transportation challenges, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
• Contribute to reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communication with counterparts in lead and client offices as necessary.
• Mentor and guide staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
• 7 to 12 years of experience, including at least 3‑5 years of extensive and demonstrated experience in the ME sector for large‑scale infrastructure/highway schemes and preferably in global delivery models.
• Chartered or professional accreditation desirable, not mandatory.
