Burns & McDonnell in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to perform planning, modelling, and design using PLS tools. The role requires 2–6 years in power transmission and strong analytical skills, with proficiency in English and CAD/MicroStation tools.

Travel may be required, and you will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver design, estimates, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or civil engineering with 2–6 years of experience.
• 2+ years of Power Transmission experience.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, analysis software/tools, Google Earth, ArcGIS
• Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).

Responsabilités

• Perform transmission line planning, modelling, analysis and design in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower, foundation designs.
• Structural analysis and design of lattice towers and line poles (Steel, LD, Wood) and loading framing trees, plan & profile drawings and permit drawings.
• Monitor and provide regular updates to section manager to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor all work activities.
• Support project team to develop engineering solutions.
• Participate in meetings and communicate with clients.
• Travel as needed within the continental U.S. to support assignments.
• Advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities.
• Implement and track design quality control processes and forms.
• Team player with communication skills and client-service orientation.
• Identify development needs of team and mentor, coach and develop engineers and designers.

Transmission Line Engineer

Responsibilities

• Performing Transmission line planning, modelling, analysis and design in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower, foundation designs etc.
• Structural analysis and design of lattice tower and line poles (Steel, LD, Wood) and loading framing trees, plan & profile drawings, authority permit drawings, wire sag and tension analysis, developing design criteria for transmission line design and create bill of materials, engineering estimate, and quality control reviews.
• Monitor and provide regular updates to section manager about progress and activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise along the guide to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and effectively monitor all work activities.
• Support project team to develop significant engineering solutions
• Participate in regular meeting and corresponding with Clients.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed within the continental U.S. to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer
• Provide team level accountability for the implementation and tracking of design quality control processes and procedures utilizing all applicable QC forms and checklists.

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in electrical/civil engineering, with 2-6 years of experience.
• Minimum 2 years of Power Transmission experience.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-office, Auto-Cad, MicroStation, Analysis software/ tools, Google Earth, Arc-GIS
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, AND ACI 318 is preferred.
