Job summary

Barbrik Transformers in Raipur, India, seeks a proactive Production Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities across core to final assembly. You will plan production, monitor progress, allocate manpower, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising core cutting, winding operations, insulation assembly and oil filling, coordinating with design, stores and testing, and driving safety and 5S practices on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of transformer drawings, winding data, insulation materials and assembly procedures.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Execution

• Plan and monitor daily production activities as per the production schedule.
• Coordinate transformer manufacturing activities from core assembly to final assembly.
• Ensure timely completion of production orders as per delivery commitments.
• Monitor manpower, material availability, machine utilization and production progress.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

2. Transformer Manufacturing Operations

• Supervise core cutting, core stacking and core-coil assembly activities.
• Monitor winding operations for power, distribution and furnace transformers.
• Ensure proper insulation assembly, lead connections, clamping and active-part assembly.
• Supervise tanking, fitting, oil filling and other assembly operations as applicable.
• Coordinate with fabrication, design, stores and testing departments.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and applicable IS/IEC standards.
• Coordinate with the Quality and Testing departments to resolve production-related defects.
• Maintain process inspection records and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
• Investigate recurring defects and implement preventive actions.

4. Manpower and Shop-Floor Management

• Allocate work to operators, winders, assemblers and helpers.
• Monitor employee productivity, attendance, discipline and work quality.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment and materials.
• Train and guide shop-floor employees on standard operating procedures.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports and job-wise progress records.
• Monitor rejection, rework, wastage and production efficiency.
• Maintain manufacturing checklists, work instructions and traceability records.
• Report production delays and critical issues to the Production Manager.

6. Safety and Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with factory safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain 5S practices and good housekeeping on the shop floor.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, material wastage and rework.
• Support continuous improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 815 years of relevant experience in transformer manufacturing.
• Candidates with experience in power, distribution or furnace transformer manufacturing will be preferred.
• Experience in production planning, winding, core assembly, active-part assembly or final assembly will be an advantage.
