Job summary

DigitalXNode is partnering with a Banking & Financial Services client in India to hire an accomplished Project Manager to govern programs with strong governance and Agile delivery. The role is remote/hybrid with multiple engagement models (FT/PT/Contract) and requires extensive delivery governance, risk management, and cross-functional leadership.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years experience, with 6+ in PM in banking/financial services, and hands-on Jira, MS Project, and Confluence proficiency.

Qualifications

8+ years total experience, with at least 6 years in Project Management in banking/financial services.
Experience delivering large-scale or complex projects.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project management including planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
Define scope, objectives, timelines and deliverables aligned with business goals.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules and resource allocations.

Manage risks, issues and dependencies with mitigation strategies.

Job Summary

Our valued India-based client in the Banking & Financial Services industry is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to govern the project and to make sure quality delivery of strategic business and technology programs. This role requires exceptional project leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams toward successful delivery in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in banking and financial services, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional projects within Agile environments. This role demands strong delivery governance, effective risk and dependency management, and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with business objectives. This is a remote/hybrid opportunity, available under full-time, part-time, or contractual engagement models.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project management including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including business, technology, operations, and vendors
Plan, manage, and deliver projects within defined scope, budget, timelines, and quality objectives while effectively mitigating risks and resolving dependencies.
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive mitigation strategies
Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
Track and report project progress, milestones, and KPIs to senior stakeholders
Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance, and internal governance requirements
Drive change management and support business adoption of new solutions
Manage stakeholder communication and expectations across all levels
Oversee UAT planning, execution, and sign-off in coordination with business teams

Required Skills

Minimum 8 years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in Project Management roles
Experience in the banking and/or financial services domain
Proven track record of delivering large-scale or complex projects
Strong understanding of project management methodologies
Experience managing cross-functional and distributed teams
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong risk management and problem-solving abilities
Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, or similar)

Good to Have

Experience in digital transformation or system modernization initiatives
Strong understanding of banking products, services, and operational processes, including payments, lending, cards, core banking, and related financial systems.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services
Industry-recognized certifications in Project Management or Agile methodologies, including PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, SAFe, or equivalent credentials, are preferred but not mandatory.

AI Experience

Familiarity with AI-assisted project tracking, reporting, or risk-analysis tools is a plus
Interest in applying AI-driven insights to project planning, status reporting, and stakeholder updates

Managerial Experience

Proven experience leading end-to-end project delivery across cross-functional and distributed teams
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder communication and expectations across all levels, including senior leadership

Operational Experience

Experience overseeing UAT planning, execution, and sign-off in coordination with business teams
Experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies, with clear mitigation strategies
Experience ensuring alignment with regulatory, compliance, and internal governance requirements
Experience driving change management and supporting business adoption of new solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (relevant technical or business degree preferred)
Minimum 8 years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in Project Management roles within banking/financial services
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
