Job summary

Guidehouse India is hiring a Medical Coding Training specialist to educate new coders and provide ongoing training for coding teams across multiple projects in Chennai. You will conduct PIP education, audits, and develop training documents to address major error trends.

The role requires 3–5 years of coding experience, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with flexibility for weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide education for new coders.

• Provide constant feedback and education to coders/QA/Leads.
• Define education scope: client, area, team, quality scores.
• Perform random audits for coders across projects.
• Create training documents based on major error trends.
• Stay updated on industry changes and update training docs.
• Ensure coders achieve and maintain at least 95% accuracy per contract.
• Maintain productivity while upholding quality.

What You Will Do

• Provide education for any new coders.
• Provide training/education for any coders in PIP.
• Provide constant feedback and education to entire coders/QA's/Leads
• Specify , client, area of education, team details, quality scores.
• Perform random audit for coders in all the projects.
• Need to create training document based on major error trends.
• Stay abreast of industry changes and create training document based on changes.
• Assures coders achieve and maintain a minimum 95% accuracy in coding based on client contract.
• Assures coders maintain average productivity standards while maintaining quality.

What You Will Need

• Minimum Experience: 3-5-year coding experience
• Should be AHIMA/ AAPC Certified.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in flexible shift including weekend.
