Job summary

Relaxo is seeking a seasoned tool room professional with 12–16 years of experience in maintenance and development of moulds to lead tooling operations in our manufacturing facility.

Role includes estimating tool costs, documenting tool room records, vendor management, process planning, and collaboration with customers for design and modification of projects. Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical or Tool & Die making is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or B.Tech in Mechanical.
• Diploma or PG in Tool & Die making from Tool Room & Training Centre or Equivalent.
• 12–16 years experience in maintenance & development of Molds.
• Footwear Industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and cost tools, moulds, labour and process costs.
• Document and record keep in tool room records.
• Vendor development and follow-up.
• Prepare process planning and discussions for timely project completion.
• Interact with customers for design, development, manufacture and modification of projects.
• Store tools properly to meet housekeeping, health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ensure stock items, tool inserts and spares are organized.
• Oversee tool room work cost-effectively and meet tooling target dates.
• Assist HOD in coaching a high-performing tool room team and monitor performance.

Role & responsibilities

The candidate should have 12 16 years experience in maintenance & development of Moulds.

Responsible for making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes within a manufacturing facility to be as efficient as possible. This may include jigs, fixtures, clamps or moulds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of Manufacturing Team.

• To undertake estimation and costing of tools, moulds, labour cost and process cost.
• To ensure documentation and record keeping of tool room.
• To do the Vendor development and follow up.
• To prepare process planning, discussion and suggestion, for timely completion of projects.
• To Interact with customer for design, development, manufacture & modification of concerned projects.
• To implement storage of tools to facilitate highest standards within the department for good housekeeping, health, safety and environmental
• To ensure all stock items, tool inserts and spares are organized

to oversee all work through the tool room efficiently and cost effectively and ensure that all target dates for tooling are met.

• To assit HOD in managing, coaching and developing a high performing tool room team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
• To monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
• To consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.

To liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers and other service providers

Preferred candidate profile

• Should have Diploma (Mechanical) or B.Tech (Mechanical)
• Professional: Diploma or PG in Tool & Die making from Tool Room & Training Centre or Equivalent will be preferred
• 12 - 16 years experience in maintenance & development of Molds.
• Candidates having experience in Footwear Industry will be given preference.
