Job summary

Naukri E Hire Campaign is seeking a tooling design engineer with strong experience in 3D CAD (CREO/NX8) and GD&T. You will prepare mold concepts, perform cost estimations, and validate designs through simulation results. Knowledge of Molding/Stamping materials and ISO/TS guidelines is essential.

Role requires collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, focusing on quality and efficiency improvements in tooling processes and project timelines.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical with tooling background or higher qualification.
• Knowledge of product design processes and tooling methodologies.
• LEAN / Six Sigma / Kaizen techniques will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tooling layouts and concepts for mold; MDP process is an added advantage.
• Knowledge on tool cost estimation.
• Prepare detailed designs/reviews using 3D CAD software (CREO and NX8).
• Draft detailed designs with tolerances per drafting standards.
• Conversant with GPS / GD&T systems.
• Knowledge of MoldFlow/Moldex 3D.
• Understand tool materials, specs, heat treatment & process.
• Oversee tool building, assembly, testing and tool room processes.
• Know molding/stamping materials and specs.
• Adhere to ISO/TS requirements and process guidelines (IATF 16949).
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for reviews and trials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of tooling layouts, concepts for mold, MDP Process is an added advantage.
• Knowledge on Tool cost estimation
• Prepare detailed designs/reviews, using 3D CAD software (CREO and / OR NX8)
• Conversant with drafting standards, preparation of detailed design drawing with tolerances
• Conversant with GPS / GD&T systems.
• Knowledge of MoldFlow/Moldex 3D.
• Conversant on tool material, material specifications, Heat treatment & its process.
• Conversant on Tool building, Tool assembly, measurement, testing and tool room processes.
• Knowledge of Molding/Stamping materials & its specification
• System know-how & ISO/TS requirements, Process guidelines (IATF 16949, and needed ISO)
• Interaction with CFT/suppliers for reviews, trials, evaluation of component / tooling elements
• Know-how Scientific Injection molding techniques will be an advantage.
• Validate concept designs using simulation results and determine design robustness, critical to function requirements.
• Involve in Kaizen vents to save costs & time. adopt standardized process and work methodology.
• Track monitor metrics for sustained performance covering quality & delivery.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• PG/MTech/Post Diploma in Tool Design from NTTF or GTTC/ BE Mechanical with Tooling Background.
• Knowledge on product, design processes and methodology.
• Understanding of LEAN / 6 Sigma / Kaizen techniques will be an advantage.
