Job summary

ePlane Company in Chennai is seeking a Mid Senior Tooling Engineer focused on mould design for prototype eVTOL airframes. You will design and develop moulds and templates for production and maintenance of composite parts, and coordinate with vendors and cross‑functional teams to realize tooling.

Requirements include CAD modelling in CATIA V6/NX/SolidWorks, GD&T, and DFM/DFA reviews. You will maintain tool documentation, assist suppliers, manage tool changes, and help meet project timelines and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
• 3–5 years in tool design & fabrication in aerospace.
• Familiarity with aerospace toolings, parts, assembly and materials.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop moulds and templates for production and maintenance of airframe composites.
• Perform DFM/DFA assessment during tooling design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
• Exposure to Aircraft assembly & integration processes, 3D metrology inspection.
• Strong hold in CAD modelling & drafting in CATIA V6, Enovia PLM.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of tool designs and modifications.
• Assist internal/external suppliers and customers with tooling related fabrication questions
• Process quote backup sheets with required tooling and data in support of procurement for Out-of-Production product lines
• Interrogate engineering/tooling drawings and CAD models to understand tool geometry and complexity, GD&T
• Utilize knowledge of common manufacturing processes related to tooling to support Supply Chain
• Coordinate tool repair, improvement and engineering change activity as needed.

Asa Mid senior/Senior Level Tooling Engineer - Mould design, you will beresponsible for Mould design & development for eVTOL airframes prototypemanufacturing & supporting in assembly integration. • Utilize understanding of thedifferent part commodities/part build strategies and what tool types aregenerally used for each commodity
  
• Understanding of the need forperiodic tool inspections and audits and ability to execute them
  
• Articulate technical detailsrelative to fabrication methods and tools required
  
• Utilize a basic understandingof Loft Engineering
  
• Utilize knowledge of the use ofMaster Tooling to control aircraft configuration
  
• Coordination of tool repair,improvement and engineering change activity, as needed.
