Job summary

Hero MotoCorp, headquartered in New Delhi, invites applications for a TM/Line In charge in the Steel phase. The role focuses on shift production, meeting daily targets, and maintaining quality and process documentation. You will lead a team, monitor KPIs like OEE, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor with TPM and JIT practices.

Ideal candidates hold a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 4–7 years of hands-on steel machining experience.

• Hands-on experience in steel machining operations

Responsibilities

• Shift production in-charge in Steel phase operation.
• Meet daily production targets for engine components with optimum resource utilization.
• Prepare and maintain DWM documents, control charts, process sheets, inspection sheets and machine check sheets.
• Monitor daily production targets per customer requirements and takt time.
• Arrange manpower according to the working pattern.
• Maintain IMS documentation.
• Conduct daily rejection analysis and apply counter measures using SDCA & PDCA.
• Analyse PQCDSM metrics, line efficiency and OEE.
• Implement TPM on the shop floor.
• Balance lines following JIT principles.
• Ensure 5S and daily maintenance in the working area.
• Monitor tool life and perform tool cost analysis.
• Maintain SPC charts and take action per trend.
• Lead and motivate the team to suggest Kaizens.
• Manage shop floor with indices and action plans for gaps.

As a TM/Line In charge – you will be a part of steel phase department and will report to Section Head of Steel Phase .Your role will be:

• Shift production in-charge in Steel phase operation.
• Meet Daily Production Target of Engine components produced in Steel phase with optimum utilization of resources.

A purpose driven role for you

Your key reponsibilities will include, but not limited to

• Preparation of all the documents related to DWM & their analysis e.g. control charts, Process sheets, Inspection sheets and machine check sheets.
• Daily Monitoring of Prod. Targets as per customer requirements & takt time
• Arranging and tackling manpower according to working pattern
• Maintaining the Documentation as per requirements of IMS
• Daily rejection analysis and applying the counter measures to the problems by using SDCA & PDCA approach
• Exposure of Production Measurable functions PQCDSM
• Calculating line efficiency and OEE data
• Implementation of TPM activity on shop floor
• Line Balancing by following JIT methodology
• Ensure 5S & daily maintain in working area
• Tool Life Monitoring & Tool Cost Analysis
• Maintaining of SPC charts & make action as per trend
• Leading and motivating the team to give Suggestion, perform Kaizens.
• Managing shop floor by conducting shop floor management index and submitting the action plan for any gap.

Academic Qualification & Experience

• B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Max 4-7-year experience)

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Knowledge of Crankshaft & Cylinder block steel machining operation
• Hands on Experience of Honing, Induction hardening, Cylindrical Grinding, CNC (fanuc control), SPM (Fine Boring & gun drill),Cutting tool geometry, Robot programming & trouble shooting
