Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in India is seeking a THT Process Engineer to develop and optimize through-hole technology assembly processes, including manual and wave soldering. You will define SOPs, set process parameters, and monitor quality to reduce defects.

The role requires hands-on capability, training of operators, and maintaining PFMEA and control plans. You will collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure smooth, compliant operation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in THT processes and wave soldering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and establish THT assembly processes (manual & wave soldering).
• Define SOPs, work instructions, and process flow.
• Set and optimize wave soldering parameters (temperature, speed, flux).
• Monitor soldering quality and control defects (cold joints, bridging).
• Perform defect analysis using 5 Why and implement corrective actions.
• Improve yield, efficiency, and reduce cycle time.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards and quality requirements.
• Provide real-time support to production and troubleshoot issues.
• Train operators on soldering techniques, safety, and standards.
• Maintain process documentation (PFMEA, control plans, reports).
• Coordinate with maintenance team for machine upkeep and preventive maintenance.
• Manage and validate tooling, fixtures, and solder pallets for production efficiency.
