Job summary

You will mentor QA engineers, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure robust quality governance, with hands-on involvement in both manual and automated testing techniques.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years overall testing experience with at least 2–3 years in a Test Lead role.
• Strong understanding of STLC and SDLC.
• Experience in Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, and UAT testing.
• Hands-on with test management tools: JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM/Quality Center.
• Experience with automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, Appium.
• Programming/scripting: Java, Python, JavaScript, C#.
• API testing: Postman, REST Assured, SOAP UI.
• Database testing: SQL queries, data validation, database integrity.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub.
• Performance testing (preferred): JMeter, LoadRunner.

Roles and Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy

Define and implement the overall test strategy, test approach, and quality assurance processes.
Create test plans, effort estimations, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
Establish entry and exit criteria for different testing phases.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Test Execution & Management

Lead end-to-end testing activities including Functional, Integration, System, Regression, UAT, and Performance Testing.
Monitor test execution progress and ensure adherence to project timelines.
Review and approve test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability.

Defect Management

Drive defect triage meetings and collaborate with development teams on issue resolution.
Track, prioritize, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
Analyze defect trends and recommend quality improvements.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor QA/Test Engineers.
Assign tasks, monitor team performance, and provide technical guidance.
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and promote testing best practices.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and skill development initiatives.

Automation & Process Improvement

Drive test automation initiatives and improve automation coverage.
Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and increase efficiency.
Implement QA metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
Support continuous testing in CI/CD environments.

Stakeholder Management

Provide regular status updates to project managers and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.
Ensure alignment between business requirements and testing objectives.
