Job summary

Fidelity International in Gurgaon is seeking a Test Lead for Automation & AI-Driven Testing to own and scale test automation across AMP applications. You will blend hands-on automation with AI-driven testing to accelerate quality delivery and improve coverage.

You will mentor a team of test engineers, design robust frameworks with Python, Playwright, Selenium, and API automation, and work closely with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and technology leaders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software testing experience with at least 5+ years in a lead or senior automation role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python for test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium for browser-based UI automation.
• Proven API automation experience using Python libraries (pytest, requests, httpx).
• Strong SQL skills across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake for data setup and validation.
• Experience with AWS testing contexts (EC2, S3, Lambda).
• CI/CD integration via Jenkins pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI concepts and evaluation frameworks.

About your team

The Asset Management Platform (AMP) Delivery team provides systems development, implementation and support services for FIL's global Investment Management businesses across the asset management lifecycle. Within AMP, the Portfolio Management capability supports systematic and discretionary investment processes used by portfolio managers, quantitative research teams and investment operations. Our platforms span portfolio construction, optimisation, risk analytics and performance measurement, together with the data, services and controls that support the investment lifecycle. We work across FIL's international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Gurgaon and Bangalore.

About your role

Test Lead – Automation & AI-Driven Testing and take ownership of building, scaling, and leading test automation strategies across AMP applications. This role blends deep hands-on automation expertise with emerging AI-driven testing practices to accelerate quality delivery, improve test coverage, and drive innovation within the QA function.You will partner with portfolio managers, quantitative research teams, investment operations, Accountable Executives and technology leaders while embedding automation, shift-left, AI-augmented QE and metrics-driven quality into daily delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Automation & Leadership Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, driving best practices in test automation, code quality, and engineering excellence.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Python with Playwright and Selenium for web/UI testing.
• Architect and implement API automation solutions using Python (pytest, requests, httpx) to validate RESTful and GraphQL services.
• Own and evolve the automation test architecture ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reusability across teams.
• Design and govern scalable automation frameworks across UI, API, service, data and workflow layers, with automated quality gates embedded in CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain technical credibility through review of Python code, automation architecture and engineering practices; evaluate appropriate tools, internal accelerators and AI-assisted techniques.
• Write and execute SQL queries for test data setup, validation, and backend verification across relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
• Define risk-based test strategies, coverage models, schedules, resource requirements, quality gates, KPIs and reporting frameworks.
• Design and govern scalable automation frameworks across UI, API, service, data and workflow layers, with automated quality gates embedded in CI/CD pipelines.

AI Driven testing

• Test RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems by evaluating retrieval quality, context relevance, grounding, answer correctness, and response completeness.
• Evaluate AI Agents and Agentic workflows including tool usage, planning, reasoning, task completion, decision‑making, and failure recovery scenarios.
• Design and execute evaluation frameworks for GenAI applications using industry‑standard tools such as DeepEval, RAGAS, LangSmith, Phoenix, or similar evaluation platforms.
• Good understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architectures.
• Hands‑on experience testing AI/GenAI applications in production or pre‑production environments.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks such as DeepEval, RAGAS, LangSmith, Phoenix, Promptfoo, TruLens, or similar tools.

About You

• Maintain technical credibility through review of Python code, automation architecture and engineering practices; evaluate appropriate tools, internal accelerators and AI‑assisted techniques.

• Proven expertise in API automation using Python libraries (pytest, requests, httpx, or similar).
• Solid understanding of database concepts – ability to write complex SQL queries for Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch) in a testing context.
• Proficiency with Jenkins pipelines (Declarative/Scripted) and GitHub Actions workflows for CI/CD integration.
• Good understanding of AI/GenAI concepts, LLMs, and how AI can be applied to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Hands‑on experience testing AI/GenAI applications in production or pre‑production environments.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks such as DeepEval, RAGAS, LangSmith, Phoenix, Promptfoo, TruLens, or similar tools.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration for test environments.
• Familiarity with version control (Git), branching strategies, and code review practices.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, risk‑based testing, and defect management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
