Job summary

Ameriprise India LLP is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong Java/JavaScript skills, and hands‑on experience in Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and RestAssured. You will write UI and API automation, maintain regression suites, and collaborate across teams to improve quality.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write automation scripts for UI applications, web services, and ETL processes.
• Identify opportunities for test automation across applications.
• Maintain and upgrade existing automation test scripts and regression suites after releases.
• Collaborate with team members, contractors, and vendors on root‑cause analysis and retest critical defects promptly.
• Monitor and report issues; coordinate with teams or vendors for quick resolution.
• Send test status reports to leadership and manage deliverables.
• Be open to learning new technologies and tools.
• Create and implement automation scripts as required in existing or new apps.
• Document solutions based on goals, requirements, and technologies.
• Log, prioritize, and retest defects; coordinate test management with BSA and development teams.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with fresh ideas, passion and great acumen for quality engineering. The role requires working experience in Java and JavaScript, test automation using Selenium WebDriver or Playwright, and Rest web services. You should also have a good understanding of testing processes and quality assurance life cycles in both Waterfall and Agile environments, strong database skills, and familiarity with Windows and UNIX environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing automation scripts for UI applications, web services, and ETL processes.
• Identifying opportunities for test automation across various applications.
• Maintaining and upgrading existing automation test scripts and regression test suites after each release.
• Collaborating with team members, contractors, and vendors on bridge calls to perform root‑cause analysis and retest critical defects in an expeditious manner.
• Monitoring and reporting issues, and working with the required team or vendor for quick resolution.
• Sending test status reports to leadership and managing deliverables.
• Remaining open to learning new technologies and tools.
• Recommending, creating, and implementing automation test scripts as and where required in existing or new applications.
• Documenting solutions for problems or defects based on comprehensive analysis of business goals, objectives, requirements, and existing technologies.
• Defect management: logging, prioritizing, and retesting defects.
• Test management: writing manual and automation test scripts in coordination with BSA and development teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of strong experience in automation using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and RestAssured.
• 5+ years of experience in Java programming or JavaScript.
• Strong hands‑on experience with TestNG, data‑driven and keyword‑driven frameworks, and Page Object Model.
• Strong knowledge of programming fundamentals and algorithms.
• Unix scripting proficiency.
• Working knowledge of GIT.
• Strong database and SQL experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
