Job summary

Marketnode is seeking a Test Engineer to lead overall delivery for our platform and data services. based in Bangalore, you will design and execute manual and automated tests, build TypeScript automation frameworks with Playwright, and perform API and blockchain-related testing.

You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA peers to improve quality and processes. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in QA, 2+ years in TypeScript automation, and a keen interest in blockchain, Web3,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience.
• At least 2+ years of test automation using TypeScript.
• Experience testing web apps, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience in Banking/FinTech or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories, requirements, and designs to create test scenarios.

Marketnode is a digital market infrastructure (DMI) operator backed by Euroclear, HSBC, SGX Group and Temasek. Our approach to building market infrastructure is one of partnership with the industry and in 2024 have successfully launched our first market-wide platform for funds, with credit and structured products to follow 2025 onwards.

• Data services: AI powered structured data and extraction tools
• Funds & transaction management: operating Fundnode, a funds transaction management and settlement platform

Having recently closed our Series A investment with major financial institutions such as HSBC, Marketnode is now well positioned for it’s next growth phase and is looking for a Test Engineer leading overall delivery efforts for our platform and data services offerings.

The role is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and maintaining test activities to ensure product quality across functional and integrated systems. This role involves collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to identify issues early, improve test coverage, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation practices.

This role is ideal for someone with strong TypeScript automation skills, API testing experience, and an interest in blockchain, Web3, digital assets, or fintech.

The role is based in Bangalore, India, and reports to the Lead QA Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories, functional requirements, and technical designs to create comprehensive test scenarios.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks using TypeScript with Playwright (preferred) or similar modern automation tools.
• Perform API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, Playwright API, or similar.
• Validate blockchain and Web3 workflows, including digital asset transactions, smart contract interactions, and API integrations where applicable.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA or Github.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Support non-functional testing, including performance, security, and usability testing where required.
• Contribute to QA best practices, test strategies, automation improvements, and continuous integration processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or similar to improve QA productivity.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• At least 2+ years of experience in test automation using TypeScript.
• Experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience working on Blockchain, Web3, Digital Assets, Cryptocurrency, or Financial Market Infrastructure products is highly preferred.
• Experience working in Banking, FinTech, or other regulated financial environments is an advantage.
