Detailed Job Description:

As a Test Engineer supporting device protocol and RF testing in Chennai via Marquis Technologies, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of mobile device verification, field testing, and protocol analysis. Your day-to-day responsibilities include executing device protocol testing, field testing, and RF validation for Android smartphones, performing functional, regression, and feature validation across mobile devices, and conducting live field testing for voice, data, SMS, mobility, and handover scenarios. You will capture and analyze device and network logs using QXDM, QCAT, ADB, and Logcat, validate complex LTE/5G procedures including Registration, Attach, Call Setup, Data Sessions, VoLTE/VoNR, Handover, and Mobility, and identify, reproduce, report, and verify software/protocol defects. Furthermore, you will coordinate closely with development, RF, protocol, and cross-functional engineering teams during troubleshooting and maintain meticulous test reports and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute comprehensive Device Protocol Testing, Field Testing, and RF Testing for advanced Android smartphones.
• Perform rigorous functional, regression, and feature validation across mobile device operating systems and firmware.
• Conduct live field testing for voice, data, SMS, mobility, cell reselection, and handover scenarios.
• Perform RF-related testing, power measurements, and signal quality analysis as per project requirements.
• Capture, extract, and analyze device and network logs using QXDM, QCAT, ADB, and Logcat tools.
• Validate 4G LTE and 5G NR procedures including Registration, Attach, Call Setup, Data Sessions, VoLTE, VoNR, Handover, and Mobility.
• Identify, isolate, reproduce, report, and verify protocol, network, and RF-related software defects.
• Coordinate seamlessly with development, RF, protocol, and cross-functional engineering teams for rapid troubleshooting.
• Prepare detailed test execution reports, bug logs, and maintain thorough testing documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech / B.E.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
• For Freshers: Strong academic foundation in ECE with basic conceptual understanding of Telecom, RF, LTE/4G, and 5G technologies, strong analytical mindset, and willingness to work in device and field testing.
• For Experienced Candidates: 1 to 3 years of professional hands‑on experience in RF Testing, RF Validation, Telecom Testing, or protocol verification.
• Solid practical knowledge of RF parameters, RF measurements, and mobile/telecom testing methodologies.
• Understanding of 4G LTE and 5G NR air interface standards and signaling protocols.
• Practical familiarity with telecom testing and log analysis tools including QXDM, QCAT, ADB, Logcat, or Wireshark.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Mandatory legal eligibility to work in India with local residency and availability for on‑site operations in Chennai.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Specialized knowledge of IMS, VoLTE, VoNR, NAS, RRC, and SIP protocols.
• Hands‑on exposure to Qualcomm or MediaTek device testing platforms and test environments.
• Prior experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting (Python) for mobile testing.
• Immediate joiners or candidates on short notice are strongly preferred.
